Used to live in Tampa. Could hear a double sonic boom as they passed over. I would then get out of bed, wander to the TV, and watch her land at CK.

@BaumannJA

The most amazing Flying machine I ever saw.... Still get choked up at the marvel and the beauty of the Shuttle.

@paulburns4721

I am still amazed at how they can go from an altitude of 250 miles and speeds of 17,500 mph to such a precise touchdown. Just mind-blowing.

@noscaasifilmstudios

The fact they do this with 1 shot and no engine is a miracle of science.

@mattweber6505

Every landing absolutely perfect. Those pilots were amazing and the best of the best.

@bbf8944

The calculations required to glide a aircraft with no thrust or engines all the way from outer space to a runway is phenomenal.

@billely4514

I supervised the manufacturing dept that provided the base powder for the heat retardant material found on each of 33,000 tiles covering a space shuttle surface.

@jeddmatthews2166

Anyone who hasn’t seen the shuttle exhibit at KSC needs to go asap. Amazing experience.

@ilikeonlygraphite

That's the leading edge of life right there. ❤

@topquarkbln

The space shuttle was ahead of its time in many ways. A space shuttle launch is still magnificent to watch,.as is the landing. 👍
Thanks for sharing

@JPETTUS191

As a kid my dad built the shuttles. It was built like a truck they could Carry so much weight. They had a lot of missions kept secret to this day. They built them to be used heavily. The fuel pump testing would rattle the entire town of Simi Valley CA

@tonkpoo

"Its one small ship for industry, but one gigant leap for explore the space" RESPECT!

@CityAstro

they be landing at the Kerbal Space center after 798 years, 367 days, and 5 hours

@wilfredharris4399

Crazy to think Capt has only one chance at landing......no go-around

@cashobuyer

What a beautiful invention this was. I miss the golden age of space

@mwm48

Absolutely beautiful landing

@ScubaDude_Sg

Saw Atlantis on display at KSC -she still has the burn streaks on her tiles from the re-entry! So amazing!

@jannemec4099

That was absolutely the best landing ever! Nice and smooth! 😮

@bobsi2813

That was some technology for its time. Most amazing machine and the people who flew in them!

@davewilson4528

What a slick landing of that beast.
