I noticed that in the "ALLOW ACCESS WHEN LOCKED" section on your phone, "Control Center" was ON. Seems risky! Say that someone steals an iPhone and puts it in "Airplane"mode from "Control Center", it might make it impossible to interact with that phone remotely to pinpoint its location, wipe it, etc. Just a suggestion, but I for one disabled "Control Center" in the "locked" section of my iPhone, just to be on the safe side.
Following best security practices is really a must, especially when it comes to ones mobile phone, seeing as it's usually is the central hub. Good job on that video! On a separate note, can I have a link to the frames you're using? I really like the vibe they give off!
Great Video... thank you. New subs from Bali
Hi. I learned a way to backup your photos free in the cloud. Props to Marília Guimarães for the tip. I just create a shared album, and don’t share it. You can storage a lot this way. The downside is that you require Wi-Fi or data to access the photos. Congrats for the content. Cheers
4:05 what if, let’s say you lost your phone and someone found it but that person is unable to contact or reply to you because the return call and reply to message are disabled?
If you also want to lock down your Apple account more, I suggest replacing the two factor authentication with using security keys. That way even if your phone is stolen you can still get access to your account
Good morning How do I disable advance data protection.
Someone also recommended turning off control center on the locked screen as if someone takes your phone they can pull down control center on locked screen and turn on airplane mode and disable ‘find my’ from your other devices.
Really fantastic video full of useful tips; I particularly appreciate #7 !!! Thanks!
Something that needs to be mentioned about advanced data protection is that it prohibits intelligence agencies from other countries being able to request your ICloud data. The problem is that if you have multiple older devices logged into iCloud, you need to delete the less secure ones from your list of devices, which can be a pain if you use iCloud on those older devices.
This is great! But kind of crazy to turn on Advanced Data Protection and then backup your photos to Google of all places, which completely bypasses the benefits of ADP.
Sir, please reply how we can enable password for power of in iPhons . This feature is must and very important for theft protection.
Awesome video! Must watch for many people. Quick question regarding Advanced Data Protection: What happens to shared content, for example shared Notes or shared Reminders lists with someone who doesn't have ADP turned on? If I have a shared note with someone, and I turn on ADP, what happens to that Note if the other person doesn't have ADP enabled, what's the behavior there? Thanks :)
i wish you could lock apps with a different passcode than the lockscreen passcode. seems like such an oversight.
Should I turn on lockdown mode on my iPhone?
Isn’t secure enough? 😂😂 I think what you mean is the new iPhones are the biggest security, nightmare and privacy intrusion of any electronic device you can possibly have near you. And it cannot be turned off. It will be listening and watching even when the phone is turned off. There is no level of security you can add to stop the new iPhone from broadcast every key stroke and screen that you see directly back to Apple for sale to whomever wishes to buy it. If that’s what you mean by not secure enough, I agree. And, by the way, Apple is not even denying this anymore.
Advanced data protection is disabled in the UK.
While following along, I saw that both you and I have Home set to be accessed when locked. Could this be risky if you have a lock or garage door setup in Home? Thanks for the needed review. Especially in these times.
I found an even faster way to disable your Face ID. Click volume up, volume down, no need to hold the volume keys. Then hold power button for 1-2 seconds. I learned this trick when I had to hard reset to get out of Guided Access.. Hard resetting requires the first two steps and then holding the power button until you see the Apple logo.
