To be fair, this one is for games that are still readily available to the public. You can still buy most switch games physicslly abd csn def buy them digitally.
Yes, but he wasn’t sued for the emulator’s existence (well he was, that just wouldn’t have held up in court with a good enough lawyer, which he couldn’t have afforded, but it would still prob been less than the 2,4 mil). But if ya read the actual legal documents, the thing that got him a laser pointed at him was that it wasn’t just some guy who leaked Tears and people played the leak through Yuzu. It was the fact that he effectively sold builds of Yuzu that could play the leaked game and offered patches to those builds to fix incompatibility issues through his patreon. So in essence he sold items that allowed people to pirate a soon to be released game. Because he knew that there were literally no ways to play the game officially yet (ya couldn’t dump the files yourself [legal]) and he helped (and profited through sales and not donations) in the process to play those games illegally.
In Brazil, we need to work for 3 months (in the best scenario) to buy one Nintendo switch game
''The easiest way to stop piracy is not by putting anti-piracy technology to work. it's by giving that people a service that's better than what they're receving from the pirates'' Gabe Newell
Nintendo said it themselves "Emulation isn't illegal"
Do you know how many emulators they have tried to shut down? Some of the. Successfully. There will be a new emulator up by next week
My homebrewed New 3DS XL with every nintendo game out there is happy. And now that switch 2 is coming ill do the same thing to my switch.
I have a hacked switch, you can take games YOU OWN and DUMP THEM yourself, you don't have to be a pirate to see the benefits, i have pokemon violet on switch and PC. I no longer play dock, i have my saves synced and i play on the switch when on the go, then play on PC at high res and DECENT framerate. I am using emulation to get the experience i actually PAYED FOR. There is no excuse for taking that away from users
I feel as if is is wrong to emulate switch games but older consoles that you can no longer buy or get games for are fair game
I understand that Nintendo sees it as war when you pirate games before their are even released and make emulators for the current gen console. People always talk about game preservation, but then instead emulate the newest games. If they would restrict themselves to wait a year, they could claim moral arguments, but now it makes you look just like bad people.
After seeing what they're charging for Switch 2 games, you're got dang right I'm gonna emulate.
download all roms and store on them
imagine other company lets say Sony, developing a game for years and you see someone emulating your game before it was even realized. I agree with Nintendo this time...
Keep up the good work! Get the word out there!
Just buy a Wii U mod it and bam you got the best nintendo console ever imo you play every Nintendo console before it I personally love playing GameCube on it 👍🏽👍🏽
With the switch two coming out nintendos hurting their family name by locking the newest generation of gamers and their long time fans behind a $500 paywall
Moved on to Suyu, works fine
$300K for his legal defense seems wasteful given the circumstances. $300K on commissary makes way more sense.
I'm already playing on the Steam Deck, but since Yuzu and Ryujinx have both been discontinued, you won’t see any performance improvements for games that already struggle to run. Most games released before Tears of the Kingdom work great, and if you're willing to overlook the FPS drops, you can still enjoy TOTK on the Steam Deck
