@user-neo71665

I been searching around all day looking for this exactly and you described it to a T. Was able to get my radio set up in a few minutes after trying to figure it out for at least 12 hours. This volunteer FF thanks you.

@W1AEX

Thanks for posting this easy to follow CHIRP programming guide for the UV82. I've been looking for an explanation of the Duplex "OFF" function. Very handy for disabling transmit on the public service frequencies. Well done!

@mikelinthicum7514

Thanks for the video. Looking to buy the UV-82 and use it to monitor railroad freqs. I thought that the radio would do some sort of scanning, but you've proven it will do what I need it to do.

@ScenePhotos

Thank you. You showed me the step I was missing for uploading. I was unaware of the 127th frequency which was preventing me from uploading. So glad I found your video! Keep up the good work

@MrMrsregor

i always come back to this video when i need to program, thank you for uploading this!
how do we determine tonesql and mode (FM vs NFM) ?

@IkeCantle

Thanks so much for uploading this programming video. It's very comprehensive and easy to follow.

@tigrawild

Can someone tell me how to locate important frequencies(police, national guard, fire, public works etc) that i can program into my baofeng uv-82hp for my local area. I dont have any experience on these radios but i am a quick learner! I have gotten to this point of downloading the driver and using this screen but i want to program it according to what is for my area. Thank u who ever can help me out.

@rudybirnbach6948

I have a question I live in Columbia Maryland I don't know what frequency to put in my radio could you please help me?

@gregmorris3628

Thanks so much man! I was ready to throw the radio out of the window! I originally wanted to set each departments frequency to have a separate channels, but it wouldn't work right. So I programmed the entire division under "FIRE" and it scans throughout.

@da1am319

Nice video. Very clear and well put together. Thanks for sharing.

@alvingray677

Using chirp Baofeng uv-82, Can you help me each time i program one frequency and go to program another it copy to the same frequency

@christiansnapp5101

How do I type in my local PD frequency? My friend has the same one as me and is able to listen, but when I type it in it says cancel, and goes back to the 146 frequency I have saved in my radio any help? Or ideas

@scotts2630

The mini disc I have is for a different radio, one that has 16 channels.  How can I get the info to set up my radio, UV82,  on my computer?

@rudybirnbach6948

I am in Baltimore md will the frequencies used work for my area or do I have to put in my own that's what I don't understand?

@warren7127

Thank you Ed o/ I've been eager to get into this for some time now. I have finally ordered my UV82 along with a Nagoya 701, I am looking forward to getting hands on with it over Christmas. I have been doing a lot of research on these radios & your videos have helped alot! I have subbed as I am sure I will be referencing to them many more times :) So thanks again & until I get my call sign... this is Warren from Louisiana signing off  o/

@tommyoconnell4259

Hey I'm a volunteer firefighter and I bought this as a scanner but would like to use it to transmit if I had to...what would I do differently in the programming section in order to transmit back? I appreciate it in advance.

@joleo89

haha....I've had the UV5ra for a year now and I always thought the voice said "Scanning Beacon" too. lol. Yes, it is "scanning begin" though. :D

@4kedhorn

Thanks for the info. I like the intro and outro music too.

@jersey2484

Hi. Does it matter what cable you use for this radio? I ordered one that said it would work with the UV5R as I couldn't find one that said it was for the UV-82. It shouldn't matter as long as I use chirp correct

@MrMrsregor

thank you for this video, very clear and helpful!
 i am planning on getting two of these radios next week (from amazon for $35 each). is there anything i should know before i buy them as my first GMRS radios? or should i be shopping for a different radio?
we have little to no cell signal here in the mountains and i would like to use two of them as communication in the woods on motorcycles and atvs (and a few big public events), i would also like to use them as a scanner to listen to the emergency and weather channels. i want my friends and family to be able to use them with me, do i need just one license or do i need a license for each radio and/or for each person?
when you set the mode on the screen you had FM and NFM, when i look up the local codes i see "Mode FMN". is NFM and FMN the same thing?
