Imagine if you were being charged with a crime, and every time a piece of evidence against you was brought up, your lawyer just kept screaming "REEEACH"
"how many times does it take?": "Once is an occurrence, twice is a coincidence, three times is a pattern, and patterns are worth exploring" -a wise man
Honestly, the fact that they made people trade jpegs for millions of dollars is way funnier. The hidden racist references aren't even that imressive at that point.
I never connected the dots to racism before, but I always believed that the name "bored apes" is a mockery making fun of the buyers. The buyers are the real bored apes.
Asmongold at the start: "I'll spot any kind of crypto racism" Asmongold throughout: "I have never heard of this"
The interview with those ladies with the bored ape lady giving weird circle running answers is one of the creepiest interviews I've ever seen. Is that actually real? For real?
Bro lost me when he said a big nerd wouldn't pick an obscure character to name their company after. That's the nerdiest thing.
There's no way the people who made those "puzzles" can be accidently doing any of this.
The most wholesome thing is Asmon's dad calling in. Good God I love that his Dad tunes into the stream.
"It's easier to fool somebody than it is to convince them that they've been fooled" true words! I remember when i snapped an old friend of mine back to reality with this quote when he was misled by a girl.
I still believe it's just an extremely elaborate troll made by very intelligent writers who don't give a fuck and grew up on internet culture.
They should also mention that there is a long history of writers and artist's trolling people. The biggest troll of all time is scientology. It was 2 sci fi authors making a bet that one couldn't create an absurd religion and actually get people to follow
There is no way to watch any documentary in youtube without the creator clipping in Asmongold into the story.
No doubt it started out as a troll but it just snowballed into something so much bigger and ended up being a profit making machine. I don't doubt the creators never expected it to blow up as much as it did.
I am not going to stop wearing my retro 80s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirts because they say that.
That's how you know that man was dedicated to making a good video, he was on top of it and ready to go at a moment's notice for an interview covering it's content; well done.
32:02 i actually remember seeing that photo studying history. I'm 99% sure (and this is the worst part) that, in that photo, the man is actually staring at the hands of his daughter, who had been cut off to punish him. It's a sick world
Props to Zack for a great interview, especially on-the-spot like that. He's such a professional. Great video.
They don't have to be racist in order to troll using racist imagery. Especially if they're (semi-) nihilists or want to get genuine racists to give them money.
