My grandma always told me i should walk barefoot in the grass early in the mornings - this is a traditional indian practice. She had so much wisdom ❤
I think this is why it is so difficult to keep shoes on kids. They innately know they shouldn't be weaing them.
I was sitting here listening to this broadcast today and a huge realization hit me. We were raised in a very family; the mother was abusive on physical mental and psychological levels, all day, every single day. I actually had a very spiritual experience at the age of 7. When the mother was at her most violent stage, I disappeared into a white, brilliant, glittering doorway. I could hear nothing and and see nothing. When I came out of it, her anger had subsided to a large degree. However, I also stayed out of the house as much as possible. We were surrounded by woods and I was always in the woos, lying in the grass, always barefoot and at night I would sneak out of the house with my blanket and pillow and sleep in the grass. I loved the earth and grass. I haven't done that in a long time and I need to get back to feet on the earth, in the grass, laying in the grass with the sun shining on my body. I suddenly realized how I missed that. I was also the only sibling who came out of that childhood without being a total wreck. I had some issues I had to get over, but my siblings never did, but they were never outside with me, in the grass, sleeping outside. That saved my life literally. So, I paused this program for a while, went outside, put my chair in the grass, sat down with bare feet on the ground, closed my eyes, listened to the birds (I live in the middle of the Ocala National Forest. It was heavenly! I will do this every day, several times a day. Thank you for this programming. I am now 81 and this will be so incredibly helpful for me.
This is why children are so full of joy. I remember in my childhood rolling in the grass, climbing trees, playing in the bush, walking in the streams, playing in the dirt. Life was good.. and simple. No electronics. Just a kid in nature.
This is why gardeners are happy people. They have their hands in the soil.
Rule no 1: when things get confusing go back to basics
Three years ago, I was inspired by an ex to start going outside barefoot. Today, when there isn't snow on the ground, I spend most of my time barefoot. My soles have toughened and my feet have become comfortable on any terrain. I get a lot of comments when people meet me on hiking trails, everything from "you are awesome" to "do you need help". Until I watched this video, I thought it was just a thing I liked to do... but now I see there is much more to it. There are legitimate physical health benefits to doing this. I was diagnosed with MS 6 years ago and have refused prescription treatments for it... although I wasn't doing it intentionally, I am sure that (along with the intentional healthier eating and lifestyle) earthing myself has played a huge role in keeping me healthy. Summers are when I feel the absolute best and they are when I spend the most time with my feet in the dirt. It is such a simple thing to do, I really think everyone should spend more time with their feet in the dirt <3
Literally hugging trees and leaning back on the tree is healing too.
Love the price of this treatment: $0.00. Enough to make the medical industry pissed and claim it is unfounded.
5 years of barefoot, miles a day, and at 65 I have never been more pain free in spite of my broken back and 50 years of scoliosis, no impact or effect, pain, and life is incredible.
An awesome anecdote alone is that Clint is 85 (in 2023) and this movie is from 2019 so he was around 80 here. He looks fantastic, moves incredible and surpasses the health standards of every 80 year old ive met.
We have just entered the age of Aquarius. Humans are beginning to raise their conciseness, realizing and understanding our connection to earth.
I started "earthing" more than a month ago after watching this video. Ever since I am off blood pressure medicine with normal values. Thanks for sharing this.
I love gardening barefoot. I used to suffer from anxiety and depression climbing the corporate ladder in orange country and I moved to Arizona and started teaching. I have a lot more free time and land that used to be desert sand. I’ve since turned my backyard into a permaculture food forest. I’ve never felt happier and healthier.
I'm 55, from India. I practice walking barefoot on earth, grass, the beach, etc. Daily. Wherever and whenever I can. Many a time, my whole 60-min morning walk is barefoot. I always knew that going barefoot was extremely beneficial for our health. But I didn't know these many details about WHY so. This is a great documentary, and should be made a compulsory part of the school curriculum. A BIG ThankYou to Rebecca Tickell, Josh Tickell and team - for making this highly educative movie on Earthing! Gratitude to the pioneer Clint Ober - for making us realise all this systematically. By the way, in India, 30-40 years back - 95% of the locals and village folks used to be barefoot always. Yes, they never wore footwear. Today, only say 1~2% of the village folks go barefoot. Also, in our temples - we need to take off our footwear before entering. No footwear inside the entire temple premises. So that's a good way to ensure that you get grounded whenever you visit your temples. And yes, the ancient temples all had raw earth floors throughout, and natural stones for the pathways.
The fact that an entire documentary needed to be made to “prove” the benefits of humans connecting to the earth is insane. Indigenous cultures have always known of the importance of being one with nature. The materialistic world we live in today only takes us further and further away from our true selves. It’s making us weaker by removing us from the earth. Everything is covered by buildings, concrete, and parking lots. We need to return to a simpler way of living. We need to heal so the earth can heal.
I grew up in West Africa, Germany, England, Barbados, Uruguay, Belgium, Argentina, Bolivia, Italy & other places...everywhere I walked & ran barefoot, & lay down on the earth...each place felt different...some felt energizing, others comforting, some stirring. To feel the earth...healing me, leading me, teaching me...led to amazement, awareness, gratitude.
I grew up in Mexico and I was raised grounding without even knowing it. My grandmother will encourage Us to walk barefoot, she said it was good for Us. I never knew why but I remember enjoying it. I used to eat dirt too! Many people in Mexico believe this is ok too!🤣 we were never in the hospital or sick.
I know that this movie is 2 years old, but I am so glad that I came across this movie. 😊😊😊😊😊
