Warm, inviting, soulful, and elegant -- this newly-opened hotel in Kyoto is infused with the aesthetics of modern organic style. I particularly like the extensive use of wood throughout the property. Not only that wood gives the hotel interior a sensuous ambience, but also that it is a delight to the eyes. The hotel's name is "Six Senses", which are, in Buddhism, hearing, sight, taste, smell, touch and extrasensory perfection. The extensive use of wood is particularly in keeping with the hotel's name, since wood engages all of our senses. A very beautiful hotel! Thanks for sharing!

There is a great lesson to be learned here. Always research your chosen destination, in detail, from food, to gym, to spa, and the room. I would starve to death (figuratively speaking) if I stayed here. The tempura shrimp was the only thing I wanted to eat. Part of my let down might be from watching the extraordinary Four Seasons last week. I realize this is themed resort catering to the Angelina Jolie/George Clooney type but I would not stay her if it was free. ps: when eating at medium-high end restaurants and you find it to be overpriced and underwhelming do what I do: When the server asks how your email was say, "It was unforgettable," and see if they pick up on your insult.
