I promise you, if you’ve made it this far as to clicking on this video, you’re already a better scripter than 90% of the non-developers. Having your new mindset and personal self-drive for education puts you MILES ahead of the “average” scripter who went through YouTube tutorials for a few hours last night. You are going to surpass everyone else in the blink of an eye.

@epixerty

Pretty good video. As a scripter, I think the only thing you need is motivation. As long as you enjoy it, you'll keep learning.
If you get an error you can't solve, don't quit, just move on. Keep learning and you'll eventually get to a point where you will understand what was wrong and you will never do the same mistake again

@DennysTheRestaurant

I just wanna remind that it’s completely ok taking scripts from dev forum or anywhere else, just make sure you learn how to use it and when to use it! It helped me a lot understanding how programming actually works!

@leafofyume

finaly a video that deos not act like it knows what a mindset is. i knew 70% in this video already and it still gave me several new perspectives

@BuldsOffice

Thanks RoDev I have made at least 20 games that failed all because of one script I messed up and was very sad and even had meltdowns because this was my dream. And now after a few months of having no experience with that program and even uninstalling it I'm going to reinstall and get back on my chair and start learning.

@Imperceptive

RoDev, when you said there is always a solution to a problem, i saw my code had an error, so i kept trying to solve it and i eventually did. That was really good motivation for my coding language i am making currently for roblox.

@bigbuba5212

If you're gonna learn to script I recommend you try to beat a few rage games first like jump king or steep steps because it will help you build patience and will truly show you that it is indeed possible

@xswarmmx

Learning how to script can also have a massive impact in school because it teaches you a new way how to problem solve and how to think.

@Chlrintruc

It's crazy but you might've not just impacted my ROBLOX dev journey but my entire engineering career positively. Thank you

@Snuetheamazing

I have one thing to say. THANK YOU!!! I quitted scripting 3 years ago and seeing this i got back in to it. Now i have a game which i make around 500 robux a month from it. thanks again

@aMan-zb5vz

Yo i tried to code before and it was agitating!! This really helps because i know the basis of coding and how to start it instead of watching those “learn how to code” videos

@Guest666-d8x

I actually might take notes cus I wanna to be a Scripter and developer so thank you 🙏

@bhavyakhunt

Amazing video and points, editing is nice!

@mqtron6062

heres an idea: a game that holds datastores and uses a leaderboard with sword combat, and the leaderboard holds time. this isnt very original, but its something that can really get fps/simulator game devs a chance to actually understand those codes. as i was about to give up since the devhub beginners guide was too complicated sometimes and i had so many questions, now that i learned that i need to start somewhere, i decided to pick datastores as something i want to learn, i learned a lot of things i already knew (loops, functions, variables) but i also learned a lot of things i never knew, which eventually did lead me to be like "oh this uses the code that the datastores use, ill do this" and i kept on going till i basically have an actual game im making, and remember, i have a lot more to learn and im not nowhere finished yet even if i make an entire fps game, i wouldnt be nowhere done, lua holds so much that, you wont be able to learn every single thing. we can never finish learning lua, just like studying, just like normal languages. its all on you, i wanted to script since 2020, but i kept giving up and realising i was just not understanding why i was giving up, and the reason i was giving up was that things were complicated, and now im all good to go, you can learn scripting, trust me.

@yeast00

I have been wanting to learn for years but because of my low attention span (I have autism I'm not just lazy) it's been so hard. But this way actually sounds really good to start learning.

@ScoopInTheBaggy

I know that this was two years ago, but I just CANT understand the meanings of things like vector, return, enum and other things that just make no sense to me. No matter how hard I try and how many days I spend on one topic I just can’t find a way to know when to use what and what things mean. I want to learn scripting because I have so many ideas that I can put out but it’s impossible to overcome those confusing keywords and scripts that stop me. I also get stuck with scripts because I don’t know how to do basically anything and use free models mostly which I HATE because it doesn’t teach me anything but no matter how hard I try I can’t understand or take in any information I get from all of those scripting tutorials

@ethritt9264

Really great and informational video! Although, for future videos I suggest having something to focus on 100% of the time like the images you bring up over the blurry gameplay or unblurring the gameplay when there's no image to show. It kinda hurt my eyes a lot while trying to focus on the gameplay 😅 but besides that, it is very well edited!

@Bobloxreal

As a french dude, I understand english and im still in my beginner stages of Lua, this video is very motivating.

@horrible_player

"Your keyboard is broken? Type on your keyboard to look for solu..." love ya thx for the vid just making a bit of fun

@that_rotten_apple

I have aspirations, art, and scripting being one of them, i truly wanna learn but i’m stressed with a whole lot of stuff, school, a huge major tests my country makes for students during the 2nd and 3rd year of highschool, not to mention type 1 diabetes, i really wanna learn and i should probably take it step by step, because it’s always been a little dream of mine i wanted to do
