@marceloantunes998

3/10 ending turned into a 8/10 by the "till death do us part"
It's a pity that so many plot lines were left hanging

@MisoSoup__

It makes me kind of sad that the story felt like it could’ve continued longer, but just ended it before I could prepare myself for it to end. I just feel so empty.

@carlospitteri3146

Eh its bittersweet but it makes sense, it needed an epilogue chapter honestly. Because most likely ko isnt going to die of old age, nazuna was born half vampire and since she doesn't look like a toddler she aged up to a certain point and stopped. Thats whats most likely going to happen to ko too. At that point i guess they would be able to live together.

@r0man767

Indecision and immaturity is what initially brought Kou and Nazuna together and also what forced them apart in the end, it’s a perfect ending because despite the curse thrust upon them they’re now certain of something which is their eternal love for each other.

@harpocxy

I hope Kotoyama continues this in some sort of sequel series.

@dristiancosgrove4066

It's sad to see it end but the anime came at such a crucial time for me when I struggled with insomnia and hit oh just so so so right. Rough but I want to see an end and not a forever nothing story

@spacejokcy2285

Man I just wanted that “they get married have a kid ending” but like damn brudda that shit just stings

@ryota-hd2pw

It’s kinda sad to see how I started to read this manga simply because of the chill vibe it brought and that would make me forget about my reality. The story becomes darker overtime and then end when love is the only thing that exists left. I’m gonna miss it so bad

@Strawbarrystar

i'm gonna cry 😭
i will miss this anime

@pzshi

This final arc makes sense given how the previous arc ended. It was a heavy slap of reality to their situation and how they needed to actually work to reconcile it after the trauma of that previous arc.

@ThatOneGuy___

It definitely made me feel empty. I feel like there's still more to expand upon which could result in a happier ending. Like how Kou is still a half vampire, that plot point could've been focused on a bit more, especially with the fact the 1 year time limit is up and he maintains his vampire powers. After all, he was the first "half-vampire" and maybe used that fact to have him and Nazuna to be together at the end. For example, say Nazuna loses control and drinks Kou's blood, the moment she realizes she quickly stops and starts to panic thinking he will die, however, due to him being already a half vampire, this would actually fully turn him into a vampire then boom, there's our happy ending. Or keep his half vampire status but allow Nazuna to drink his blood freely without him dying, that also is another happy ending.

@Maw_thuugn

It felt appropriate for the general vibe and the lost but spontaneous personalities of Nazuna and Ko. Easily top 10 manga iv read to completion

@X0t1cz

I’m glad I’m not the only one who felt empty at the ending

@Someone-wr4ms

I REAALLY want a sequel to this, cause this ending left me wanting for more... specially because he kou is now a badass vampire hunter in love with a vampire... that deserves a sequel man...

@GlacierJake

got tattoo of this series. favorite series since the day i started it. i still miss getting exited every week for the chapter to come out.

@pelto7706

Spoiler :

She said "Let's play tag 'til death do us part" and Ko answered "No way, let me take a break..." i think it opens a path where Ko and Nazuna just stay together. Ko can extract his own blood so Nazuna can still drink it and live normally, and he become strong enough to stop her if she lose control (trying to bite him). It's gonna be challenging for both of them, but their love can easily surpass it. THE ONLY thing that kinda bother me for this end is.... WHAT WITH THE FACT THAT SHE'S BORN HALF HUMAN ?? Autor haven't done anything with that critical point in the plot ?

Like... Since being a Vampire is a curse caused by love... And love is the answer to remove this curse... Since Nazuna is a natural born vampire.. she isn't really affected by that love curse ?

I don't know why the autor did nothing with that big piece of cake, and that's why the end is bittersweet for me

@Notha-s3o

The author's ending hit me in the head for those who read it so I leave you with an extra alternative epilogue.

Over time Yamori keeps his word of constantly visiting Nazuna, the genuineness is still maintained, in fact some time later they found a safer way to meet although it is somewhat peculiar, a device similar to a muzzle that prevents Nazuna from directly attacking Yamori and the way they gradually integrate it into their dynamic creates new experiences and conflicts, although it is fun to see how they develop communication between the two. It does not solve the main problem that they cannot control, but it is an alternative that works very well to pass the time. In addition, Yamori continues to practice his control with his partial conversion in case something unexpected happens.

Now that they are adults they can have more decision-making capacity over the things they do so they interact more often and stop seeing each other intermittently.

At one point they decide to settle down in a town, though ironically it's the same one they met in, Yamori's hometown which I can't remember the name of, he feels comfortable spending the night there, just like he once told Nazuna in the past. I guess it's okay, in a way the boy has combined the best of his normal life with his alternative life.

Now Yamori is a full-fledged half-vampire detective, though he remains an eternal student of his teacher and friend Anko. Nazuna decides to work with her older sister Kabura at the hospital as a nurse, after a meeting Kabura is now more approachable.

Years pass and Yamori ends up meeting his human and vampire friends, drinking beer, engaging in boring/interesting conversations about love, traveling from time to time and recreating his nighttime experiences.

Unlike Nazuna who doesn't age, Yamori does.
They both become intrigued by the nature of Yamori, who is still a half-vampire. Both of them admit that they don't know much about their particular cases, and in all this time Nazuna has only been able to drink blood indirectly, for the myth and to take care of Yamori. Both of their lives always have that touch of living in an "abnormal" way... genuinely abnormal.

They both take the next step, but now they know the risks.
They always take precautions and knowledge of their nocturnal friends who over time have found other vampire communities seeking to learn more about their own nature. Both at some point undertake a trip around the world, looking for a similar case that has occurred in the past. In fact, that arc can be interesting since it is a search for meaning and belonging to a community.

They decide to consolidate their union, although I don't think it is a wedding, like Nazuna's mother or maybe it is, in fact it is not really explained what happened, just a small flash where their close friends are shown together and the voices of both recognizing that they are important in their lives.

In the future, cases related to their friends from the alternate life occur again, apparently Yamori was the precursor of strange cases. It does not always end well, but they do everything possible to find solutions and stay together. The closeness with them is maintained.

Finally, in a scene after a day of work (already at night) they both walked towards their houses. As they continue on their way, they find themselves right in front of a drinks machine (just like that time), after a light chat about how things happened and how they liked what happened, they buy two beers and the play ends with an internal monologue from Yamori.

:)

@rafalopez282

I agree, it was.. bittersweet. I actually thought after they all got back from Hokkaido, there were all just fillers before the next arc. Like a new big bad or something... Heck, I thought there was something being developed with that girl who likes Kou, or maybe his other classmates getting involved/finding out about him & the vampires.. I guess the mangaka lost interest/ran out of ideas...
Oh well, the manga was still pretty good overall.

@Dwhahaha4704

W YouTuber giving us the spoilers ahead warning. 👍

@sylvestez5268

It was the first time i actually finished a manga and i just got depression after finishing this
