@kunaalbustop2188

Dude, not having an integrated WAP makes it MORE specifically a router, not less.

@denirodarkqwerty

as a networking guy why would you hesitate to call this a router because of not also being a wireless access point?

@philippbeckonert1678

: It's for me :) I already have one and it's great! What I love about it is that you can map every port to WAN or LAN. So you can use one of the 2.5 Ports for WAN and have 3 10G networking ports.

@KevinJohnson-he4ol

I bought a UCG Max 2 months ago that I'm replacing with the UCG Fiber because I just got 2.5 Gbit Fiber at my home. I got this for the SFP+ WAN port so that I can bypass my ATT ONT with an 8311 PON for true bypass mode. I love that it has so much flexibility and future proofing even for 10 Gbit if/when I opt to upgrade my home network even further.

@TonyYarusso

It makes total sense to not include the storage and let the user decide what they want to buy for an NVMe drive, but yeah, the tray absolutely should be included. They need to just make that change to the packaging because that’s absurd.

@vertigo_one

Worth it for me... sold my UDM Pro SE to neighbor who wanted to get started in Unifi

@12HedmanLane

ME. It's for ME. Give it to me! 😂

@Vinoxi

I got one replacing an old USG, now I can utilise my 2Gbit internet connection.

@martinstolz3645

@NASCompares Did you measured the typically power consumption of this devices?
The 30W in datasheet is given as a max value, maybe if 5-10GB/s throughput is running …
but for just standby and in typical Internet streaming use cases i can Imagine such high power consumption.

@AviatorAddis

I use it as a router/switch for my home network and AP's at 2.5G and connects to a 10G edge switch for workstations and NAS. It works great and has room for future WAN speeds. No bottle necks here.

@MarkRose1337

I was looking for a new device to replace my router, even considering making my own, and I was looking for 10 gigabit support for when I get fiber later this year. Then Ubiquiti dropped this router and the 25th and I ordered it immediately. It's easily the best value option out there for 10 gig in the consumer space. It's shipped but I'm sill waiting for it to arrive so I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I did buy the accessory for the extra storage, but skipped on the storage for now.

@Galileocrafter

It’s for us Swiss guys having 10 Gbits and 25 Gbits AON internet services :)

@SithTracy

I just jumped on to the UXG-Fiber as I have a cloud key and am considering going up to 5GB of fiber. I can't help but think they are trying to phase out the cloud key. I would like to see a cloud key with multiple nVME drives in a small form factor that can run pretty much everything for a small business.

@IJayJayI

Yall remember the SNL skit on apple when they were releasing products every couple months? This is what it reminds me of. I get it and love they are releasing more, but I wish they would give us a heads up of possible upcoming releases so we can make a decision on things and decide if we want to wait for their next release in the next 2-3 months lol. I love ubiquitin, just want to know if I should buy something or wait lol.

@Darkcorestudio

i am hoping that Ubiquiti will release a 19" rack version gateway with 10GB WAN options soon so i can connect it to my 8 GB fiber connection. That would suit me better than this small form factor. Anyway it does look like a gret device 💪

@vica153

I was just looking for a router with SFP port that could utilize the cheap switches that have SFP ports. How well does Unifi work with generic switches rather than there own brand? Really tempting to try out Unifi when I upgrade to WIFI 7.

@tinostarks

22:07 note the slow upload speed, I have the same issue on my unit... my only solution was to move my WAN connection to port1...but I never figured out why the default WAN port had slow uploads.

@piotrr597

Why no vs dream machine series

@rocketval9288

still no rackmount option

@YKSGuy

It is a stand alone Router / Firewall ideal to use in home with multipule seperate Unfi WiFi 7 access points on a 2.5Gbit network. In regions that have GREATER than 1Gibabit firber internet.

I can get up to 3Gbit in my area but would need something LIKE THIS ROUTER/FIREWALL to pair with that.
