it's not an aid when taiwan paid for the military equipment it purchased. it will be an aid when the us send carrier strike groups to help defend taiwan.

This 90 days for the US to respond to an invasion on Taiwan is false. The US military has thousands of pieces of equipment ready for war just below Taiwan in Subic Bay, Philippines. This and its navy command in the SCS is ready to go to war at any given time. Not 90 days. It also has over 2,000 men ready for combat in the Philippines. This number is growing fast.

It won't just be the US entering the fight and the US isn't starting from the other side of the Pacific. Any invasion of Taiwan will begin with Chinese ballistic missile attacks on Guam and Okinawa, home of the US Navy 7th fleet. The first strike on Okinawa lets Japan off of the metaphorical leash and Japan has been preparing as well. Whereas Taiwan is ramping up arms purchases, Japan has chosen to be Japan and invent or advance new and existing weapons platforms. Unsurprisingly, China is throwing an absolute fit over Japan only giving them a 70 year head start. Make no mistake, China is terrified of a real Japanese military. China is very good at stealing all manner of technology from countries all over the world. The problem is they don't know how to make it work properly. The US and Japan will also be joined by Australia, not to mention the chance that India may well decide it would be a good time to straighten out some border disputes while China isn't looking

There is a reason the US did not invade Taiwan during WW2. The estimated loses would have been massive. In 1944 the odds of USA vs. Japan was even larger than China vs. Taiwan. Taiwan is technological giant that would leave China as an isolated third world county with massive military and civilian casualties after the invasion. China does not want to invade Taiwan.

I knew a man who used to monitor Chinese fighter pilots in the Taiwan strait. He said they always knew where the Chicom ace was. He spoke with a lisp. I'm glad they are becoming Fortress Taiwan. I have some good memories of growing up there, and a couple bad ones too, but it is a beautiful island.

The last Chinese Emperor gave his blessing to the Republic of China as he acknowledged the wish of the Chinese People to be a republic. The Emperor was correct if we compare the results achieved by the CCP in China and the Republic of China in Taiwan in the seventy years since. If Taiwan is attacked, the US could incapacitate the Chinese Military to honor the wish of the Chinese People.
