@GeographyNow

For real though, those Karakalpak people are unique- clinging onto whateverโ€™s left of the Aral seaโ€ฆ.

@Ezizmuhammet1991

Turkmenistan is an example of bad geography. They have a LOT of gas and oil, but they can't sell them in large amounts because It is sandwiched between global powers. There was a project that would send gas and oil to India through Afghanistan and Pakistan, but got cancelled because of Taliban. Turkmenistan also tried to install pipes across Caspian sea to sell oil and gas to Europe, but Russia was mad cause it was the one to sell those things to Europe.

@blensaa_mowsaa

As far as I know, Iranian Farsi, Dari, and Tajik are varieties of Persian, differing mainly in the vowels. Pashto is an Eastern Iranian language, which is very different from Persian

Moved to Bishkek 4 years ago and its one of my favorite places in the world. Kyrgyzstan is absolutely beautiful and its a hidden gem for travelers.

@user-cmcumm

fun fact: Turkmenistan is the only country that had a horse racer, weightlifter, writer, songwriter, architect, father of all people, sun-faced deity, month renamer, bread renamer and a devoted tea expert president

No so fun if you really think about it

Fun fact both ''uzbeks'' and ''uyghurs'' and ''krygz'' did not call thrmselves such before soviet occupication and recategorization krygz were actually ferghana kipchaks and uzbeks and uyghurs actually spoke the same languange called chagtai before soviets artificially recategorisised them

@Real_Person_Not_A_Bot

Actually the closest cousins to the Turkmen (if you want to call them cousins and not outright brothers and sisters) are the Turkmen of Iran just south of Turkmenistan. Also the Khorasani Turks, also just south of Turkmenistan in Iran, are another contender for their closest cousins.
