I have used some of the ideas presented in this repo to create a full dev tilt experience and eliminated all the problems devs stated from https, service discovery, microservice dependencies to db seeding. Also did several talks in my workplace and other groups started adopting tilt for developers.
Great point at 7:00 - no dev cluster is like using notepad
Thanks for the good talk. Tilt looks interesting, I'll take a look. BUT I really miss a section about automated testing. When to run them, how to run them and so on .... :/
Well, not really a step forward templating especially that simple (stupid in the case of go templating) Helm approach is out of date ... Kubernetes IMHO deserves much better approaches like the operator pattern and well supported language binding and IDE tools from these language spheres would be IMHO an option. To mention ist some things are definitly said right, but having a harmonized well formed architecture to simplify things amoung lots of different services to deploy is a simple architecture pattern know manny decades. It's still hard to see that there hase be so few progress in making Kubernetes developer friendly until now ...
Nice
crazy peoples talk
