I watched the pig walking on lava video and I have a suggestion of what you could do:

The longer you stay in the lava, the more burnt the pig looks, eventually it'll die and turn into bacon for you to eat and heal yourself, you can also make an achievement for turning 5 pigs into bacon and calling it "Man's best friend - and food".
