In addition to the discussion starting around 6:00:
Without having tried it out, it could be possible to address a service from within a cluster not only by its full domain-name but also via shortened names. In this example by leaving away the cluster-domain "cluster.local" and instead e.g. $> curl smpl-go-web-s.k8s-training.svc

This would make an internally used domain-name to access a specific service even independent from changes to the cluster-domain.
