How a dictator rises to power: 1. Remove the "enemy" of the people 2. Remove term limits 3. Allow only 1 person on the ballot
Goodbye democracy
"This is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause" -Padmé Amidala
53% of Republicans say he should not run, but if he does run they will vote for him anyway.
So this is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause
I've seen people say, "but FDR ran for 4 terms so Trump can." Why do you think it was put in the constitution cause it wasn't always like that
Gun control: "YOU CAN'T VIOLATE MY SECOND 'MENDMENT RIGHTS!" Third term: "yeah, that's fine."
What happened to it "just being a joke" or "oh he's not actually going to do it"? That's what I was constantly being told by Republicans when I kept expressing my issues with him saying it
"trump will go to prison in 2028 if a democrat is elected" 1-so they're admitting guilt of a crime 2-Thank god, i'd be worried if that wasn't the case
The fact that 25% of Americans and 50% of republicans want him to run again is so unbelievably alarming.
None of this would be a problem if that kid didn't miss.
"He'll go to prison if a democrat is given office in 2028" Yeah...... that's how the law works
As a german I really hope Trump won't get a third term. Not only is he not very popular anywhere outside the US, but history has taugth us what happens when the president / chancelor is allowed to ignore the constitution.
I have a bet with my friends saying he will be unalived before the end of this term So far my chances keep going up and up
“guys, i swear he wants to protect democracy.”
I'm so sick and tired of living through once in a lifetime events. Can I wake up from this nightmare?
But the piece of paper says no. Why isn't the piece of paper stopping this? It's as if the founders expected US to do something. Wild.
Having Obama come back for the 2028 election just to win and then immediately reinstate the 2 term limit would be the most cinematic end to the trump arc, anime adaptation worthy
How a dictator enslaves the people: Convince them that laughing at anything serious is self-care.
