I don't understand why you consider Capcut as the top free editor. With every update, it takes a free feature or two and makes it pro. The free version doesn't do much.

@JeannaMosher

Didn’t expect this to be so straightforward. Usually, I get stuck on new tools, but this one just works.

@PatriciaHolly

If a free program makes you pay to remove it's watermark upon export, it's not free.

@SimplyMechanic

Which is better between Adobe Premiere & Davinci Resolve? Perhaps you can make a video on the differences..?

@JenToHerself

i appreciate ths. after i get sad about losing capcut. i have to figure it out. i need a new option pronto. love your assistance. tyty.

@LindaCabrera-b7y

Really appreciate you breaking down the options like this, especially highlighting the pros and cons of each for different use cases! Knowing the limitations upfront helps avoid some headaches later on.

@J.Miller97_

What would you recommend for editing vlogs & pictures only?

@heidemariesanmiguel

Great overview! It's helpful to hear different experiences with each software, especially regarding CapCut's evolving features and DaVinci Resolve's data requirements. Ultimately, the "best" free software really depends on individual needs and comfort levels.

@tmimysteries

Great review! I just started using Capcut and it works well. Just two complaints. The first is that some of the interface isn't very intuitive. Probably just me learning. The other is the size of the timeline. It's teeny tiny even when I increase the height and use the zoom feature. I'd like to see them add the ability to import a script and use AI voices for it instead of just on the captions. I will probably continue to use and gain more experience.

@philippk2

One thing I really hate about the free version of Davinci Resolve is how picky it is regarding codecs. So often I just get the message the file cannot be opened...

@DeedeeHopper

As an experienced editor, I like how this balances simplicity with power. It’s not overwhelming, but it still lets me do everything I need.

Hello, I had a queston

I’m looking to create review videos where I plan to add clips of a show over with my voice recorded in Audacity. I'm trying to decide between using the 2 software

Here's what I need the editor to do: Horizontally flip a video, Color grade a video, Speed up or slow down a video, Add text over a video, Add echo to my voice

I’m leaning towards CapCut because it’s more user-friendly, but I’m worried it might be too limited for my needs. Do you think CapCut can handle all of these tasks, or should I dive into DaVinci Resolve? I’m willing to learn DaVinci, but I’m hesitant because it seems more complicated and might have more tools than I actually need.

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!
