Linen is incredible fabric. Back in the 20s-50s they had people sleep in linen bed sheets.

I don't like wearing cotton anything, it holds onto smell too much. Get wool, linen or silk. Merino wool is all weather and it's antimicrobial. Merino wool also isn't itchy like you would think. I personally don't like linen underwear because I'm a big guy and linen is very stiff, but I've heard silk is very cooling so maybe wear linen pants with silk underwear in the summer.
