I've got almost 100 of these totes, bought them instead of moving boxes and will have them forever, super handy. I have let friends use them since too so they can save money. About the same price as a moving box back then. I just stack them but if they start to get heavy I'll throw dunnage across the tops to redistribute the weight off the lid onto the box. The lids do give out some times but overall they hold up pretty well

Well if you're getting the lumber from home Depot check the cull lumber that they spray paint with purple spray paint usually it's defective in one way or another but it's 70% off I build most of my shelving systems with the cull lumber I built a desk in my computer room that wraps around two and a half of the walls for $25 of call lumber I think it costs and I got the hardware at habitat for humanity for like 50 cents per bag. SO ALL YOU PEOPLE COMPLAINING IN HERE THAT THAT'S MORE THAN $100 WORTH OF LUMBER I BEG TO DIFFER IT COULD BE MUCH LESS AT HOME DEPOT. The busier the home Depot the more likely they are to have call lumber that you want.

How how space did you leave vertically between each bin? Or an easier question: im sure you made a spacer for attaching the rails, what size was it? (Top of one rail to the bottom of the next)
