The thing the IU fans who are saying she should have won instead don't get is this, and I am not taking anything from IU, she was amazing in WLGYT. But, IU was great in a drama that had one of the greatest scripts in the history of K-Dramas and she was surrounded by a huge number of amazing actors giving great performances, I mean like 4 of her co-stars were nominated and really 5 should have been as Park Hae-joon was robbed of a nomination. IU was great but she made a 9.0/10 drama into a 9.5/10 drama. She was an all-star on a Hall of Fame filled team. In fact, other than the writer, I am hesitant to give an individual honor to anyone in WLGYT because that was just a once in a lifetime coming together of people giving the performances of a lifetime. The entire cast! Kim Tae-ri had an average, sometimes messy script, and other than maybe Moon Ok-gyeong, no other actors really giving great performances (good ones, but nothing that really stands out). Kim Tae-ri took a 6.5/10 drama and made it an 8.5/10, singlehandedly. People saying IU carried WLGYT have no idea what they're talking about and no idea what "carried" means. And when you say IU "carried" it, you disrespect Bo-gum, Moon So-ri, Park Hae-joon, Choi Dae-hoon (who ATE), and Yeom Hye-ran, and many others. Tae-ri literally picked up and carried Jeongnyeon. If any other top actress is the lead in Jeongnyeon, it's probably a failure. If any other top actress is the lead in WLGYT, it's still one of the great dramas ever and still wins Best Drama. Also, I have only seen these IU should have won from westerners. I have yet to see a Korean comment make that statement. It's not a popularity contest, kids.
