Not many tech CEOs can say they know anything about the product, and fewer still can complete a clean disassembly like this with every product the company handles. You're a rare breed mister, mad respect.
I’ve been repairing Chromebooks at my school and it’s an absolute nightmare, I really hope schools transition from using Ewaste to something more sustainable like this
It is blowing my mind that a company can just...have a display that is so easy to replace? And they dont? Thank you for making this, it will probably be the first Framework i buy
Framework casually dropping the perfect student laptop that can still perform (or upgraded to be) once the kids reach university level instead of just being e-waste
We did it guys!! A whole 10:44 tech product presentation whitout any AI mubo jumbo shoehorned in for the investors! Is this heaven?
The display replacement tech is actually one of the most useful things on a more touch note-taking focused education laptop. Glad you included that.
I screamed an audible expletive when he slid out the screen to demonstrate replaceability. HOW MANY laptops have I seen having to be deep-sixed because it was impractical to replace the screen out? This laptop is a masterstroke of industrial design.
I love seeing a One Laptop Per Child laptop in the background.
3:47 Respecting young people by not giving them a celeron or athlon. Nice!
I love that the CEO does these super intimate videos. It’s really sweet!
Students break screens, keyboards, and charging ports frequently, this will be such a time saver for the schools that get these.
Can I pitch that you do a clear shell colorway? A clear see-through laptop would be irresistible!
I’m legally blind and the convertible form factor is SO GOOD for getting my eyeballs close to the screen, my Blade 14 ain’t gonna last forever and this looks SO COOL as a replacement. 💞
That pogo pin connector for the keyboard to avoid cables is sheer genius! It's success all the way from identifying a clear product need the customer couldn't have articulated, all the way to execution
As a technician, I wonder why the way how to replace the display , is not already an industrie standard. I am so happy that you framework guys are doing what you are doing! But I wished it woudlnt be necessary - but thats unfortunate not the world we are living in right now.
This is where the really interesting engineering is happening! Not making everything super-thin, glue together and not repairable, but instead very functional and easy to repair, upgrade and reuse while keeping an great aesthetic going. Love all this innovation that Framework is bringing, congrats to the team!
Oooof! I had such a nerdgasm when you pulled up that keyboard without messing with any cables. I'm not sure why such a "simple" innovation gets to me so much but it does.
Perhaps one of the most aesthetically pleasing laptops out there. Oh and that screen replacement is BEAUTIFUL.
'lower cost' and 'entry level' used in framework video. love you guys, what you do is superb, and if i had the money i would DEFINITELY get one, if for no other reason then to support the initiative but framework ain't entry level, and most definitely ain't low cost
