I passed it after studying two weeks. The biggest thing is that there's a significant gap between the study materials and actual exam. I consider it an exam that takes the theory and brings it into real life. In order to pass the exam, you're going to have to know how protocols, access controls, ports are related to the CIA triad. Know your ports, know your protocols. Know the types of access controls (RBAC, DAC, MAC), physical vs logical access controls. Know the ISC2 ethics. One thing that wasn't brought out in the video is that there are 25 seeded questions in the 100. You don't know which ones they are and they can throw you off and reduce your confidence a bit. You just have to be persistent and believe.

Also, I think there's a correlation to how well you do on the initial assessment and passing the actual exam. If you get 80% or above on the initial assessment, YOU ARE GOING TO PASS THE REAL EXAM. Even though the questions are phrased differently.

@omqitsmeomg

Passed it today. The actual exam was waaaaaaay harder than the practice exam, where i scored 99/100. Also, the wording of the exam questions is not always easy to understand if English is not your first language.

@imterpsfan2

NOTE: You do NOT need an endorsement for this certification! Repeat, all you need is to pass the exam, fill out a very short application and pay a 50 dollar membership fee.

BTW, don't take this exam lightly. The pass rate is actually a little above 50%. If you don't have a security background, you're going to find the wording of the questions to be difficult. But all of the ISC2 exams are like this so this gives you a gentle environment to become attuned to the ISC2 testing strategy.

I'll give you a good resource, probably the best resource on this exam. Mike Chapple, he has a book as well as a LinkedIn Learning course. Look at his Exam Hints, they are helpful but even then you're going to have to think out of the box on these concepts. One other thing, learn the OSI model!

@marlonburks3555

I took and passed the practice test twice (92% & 88%) but did not fair as well on the actual exam. The questions on the actual exam were WAY different (more difficult) from the questions in the practice test to the point where it seemed like I went into it blind and hadn't studied at all. My recommendation is to most definitely find an additional source to study from before sitting for it because the study materials and test exercises from the ISC2 aren't sufficient IMO.

@PrabhNair1

Hi Bro thanks for giving credit.Glad you find my content useful ❤

@victorfrancis1378

writing this exam 18th Dec 2023. thanks for the suggestion.

Edit this is 19th of December 2023. I successfully passed the exam thanks the advise i got from this video. I'm much grateful for the YouTube channel he mentioned really helped on God. I did the online training but Mr. Prabh Nairs videos was gosh the best

@atlantababiiiilova26

I’m prepping to write the exam in 2 weeks and honestly I’m anxious… thank you for the tips I will try them🙏

@Wit-kx5yb

Ty for the tips and the link to Prabh’s content. I just found you guys on Monday 10/30 … took the test today and passed!!!

@fireman6x9

Thanks for the video and suggestions. Recently took the official exam and passed! I used the ISC2 self paced course and Prabh Nairs series of videos and passed. You are right that the test questions are harder than the self paced course content.

@LayoBalogun

I just passed the ISC2 CC exam today. Your recommendations actually helped. Thank you

@CicadaAppreciationSociety

Thanks for this info. I'd passed Sec+ years ago but decided to take this because it was free and a good refresher. On the pre-test I got a 92% as some of the terminology tripped me up. I've got a week to study for the exam but I'm feeling pretty good about it and I think the info you shared will help, thanks!

@marcuskalman1606

I have my CC exam tomorrow morning. Coming from a fullstack background. This is a good and informative video! Thanks brotha!

@Juliana4eva

Wow I'm just glad I came across your channel yesterday and now this video...this is very helpful because I'll be taking mine by next month hopefully and uhmm few people have said not to rely on just the ISC2 materials but to outsource more materials in order to pass the exam and with these tips you've laid out and my dedication I believe I'll make it through the exam.

@skqq3250

Yes I love the Prabh videos. He is a true teacher.

@rav8149

I just passed the test. I did the practice self study in isc2 and thats about it. Most of my knowledge came from professional experience and it definitely adds to your knowledge base. If you are a new professional or fresh into the industry or yet to be, I would say study more than the isc2 training and more practice tests.

@thandikatuli1610

I didn't pass the pre quiz well but I will do what you have said ...I believe I can pass the real exam... thank you 🙏

@fayorachel

Thanks for this advice, I'm doing my exam in two days. My background is in marketing and social media. Looking forward to passing this exam, I'll be back to update you😊

@sambeg27

You mentioned it being 1 of the 3 things to certify in cyber Security. CC is 1 what are the other 2 qualifications needed? thanks for your resources. really helpful.

@billzimmer123456

Thanks a mil for pointing me to Parbhs Videos, sat in exam today and passed......
