Seems kinda thick for a panhandle
Elaborating on the $10 million part, when Texas joined the union and gave up its' land claims, it also helped rid Texas of their debt at the time.
Holy crap... By today that money would equal up in the billions...
It does help make Texas into a very pretty shape. Goes with everything.
Bro thats a doorknob
No. It was mainly because of debt. This is only an extra reason for the land sale
It doesn’t even look that "strange". It’s just a goddamn shape
Remember, Texas was not admitted to the Union. Texas, as an independent state, joined the Union. That's why its flag is on the same height as the U.S. flag.
Damn good editing for such little subs
Imagine becoming independent only to find that the country you joined won't let you have slaves either 💀 At least texas is on a... better country now?
Man, imagine Super Texas.
i realised texas looks like a finger gun if u flip it sideways
The panhandle on Oklahoma has an interesting story as well involving Texas
What the Texan settlers feared was that Mexico might take their slaves away. Mexico had been free soil since 1829 during the presidency of Vicente Guerrero and one of the reasons the Anglos formed their filibuster regime was to have the area annexed into the US as a slave state.
PROUD TO BE TEXAN, just kinda sad we lost our land up north, we could have been huge
Tornado starting point!😅
Texas, as a republic was in horrible financial straits and practically begged the United States to join the union. So for any Texans that are overly proud of their roots, try to remember the complete history of Texas.
Doesn't resemble a panhandle. If anything looks like a panhandle, it's the part farthest west.
The only video explaining this correctly, THANK YOU
