"tricked into running a half marathon" hahaha perfectly accurate ending!
For the newbies out there, it took me like 2-3 months to stop getting shin splints, gasping like a fish, and struggling with the shortest distance. Then I broke through the worst of it and started loving a good run and pushing for more miles. It may not feel good for a while but it's so worthwhile for what's on the other side!
Literally I run for the endorphins. There’s something about a runners high that is the best feeling 🙌
You basically described my entire relationship with fitness
I just run because I like the fresh air and it feels like an escape from my life and problems and it calms my anxiety. It’s not about what you do it’s why you do it.🙃
Once you get that runners high, you’re hooked for life.
I always thought I hated running, then one day I was sitting at home full of anxiety and I just had this sudden and clear desire to go outside somewhere and run. I’m still not that great but it always feels amazing
Totally with you- it’s a great way to feel truly alive, healthy and connected with the natural world- moving at a natural pace- we are made for this! Thanks for sharing ❤🏃♀️🌱🧘🏼🌿🙏
YES. Omg! You described it so perfectly how I came back to something I started when I was younger and HATED. And now I look forward to my trail run every weekend and hope I can get a lil further the next time, and if not that’s okay too. 💞 keep at it ladies
New runner here! Just ran my first 5k trail run in 32 mins. It feels great to push your body and achieve goals. Also the runners high is real! Was not enjoyable at first but now love it.. try it with some weight training to make sure you don’t injure yourself xx
Running is what i miss the most😭 i ran and it just made me feel amazing in myself.. but then after spinal issues, multiple back surgeries, fusions- while i can walk-i am not always able to..i have to use my walker at times and i have the hardest part walking at ANY incline, regardless how slight of one there is.. which is really annoying cause i get RIDICULOUSLY slow, just trying to move/ slide each step till it's even again.. I'm barely over 40! I wish more than anything i could run again🙏 ENJOY THE FUK OUT OF IT IF YOU CAN❤❤❤
Almost no other guys at my gym do cardio seriously, everyone just wants to get buff, but I run for an hour every day to treat my adhd and depression, and I recommend it to everyone!
I like running because i like to catch my train on time 😂 feels so accomplished haha
For me it’s dancing. It’s my preferred method of cardio. I’ve always hated running but I would play Just Dance on Kinect for HOURS as a child and rediscovered that love for dancing in my living room as an adult. It’s honestly changed my life.
I started running to burn calories. I'm still a newbie, can't run a 5k yet. But I have lost 30 pounds. And I am motivated to keep going because I enjoy setting new goals for myself and accomplishing them!
Get out of my head! 😅 this is crazy. Did we ALL just go through this ??!?!
My best running was when I wasn't doing it to lose weight, but more to challenge myself to see how far I could push myself. That mentality even helped with injuries because it became a puzzle to see how I could prevent the injury from reoccurring.
Running is just a good sport and the community is generally supportive. It can often be more about improving yourself than beating others.
Spot on!
