The switch back of different mediums is fascinating and unique. From miniatures to studio sets. Love it. I. British and definitely needed the subtitles in some cases. Excellent movie. Classic IMO ❤

It wasn’t ‘banned’in the UK or Australia! I have a beautiful Aussie daybill, promoting the film for its Australian release . Yes, ‘BANNED’ is on the poster with a cross through it - obviously hoping potential controversy would make it a box-office success.

This movie is actually called Love On the Dole, and it was not banned. Excellent movie, nevertheless. I thought the old ladies were brilliant. They reminded me of Coronation Street in the early days with Ena Sharples.

Yet another brilliant (British) b&w film spoilt by colourisation and a change of title from original. I watched this recently as "Love on the Dole". Hard-hitting at the time. Great acting, lots of famous stars who went on to bigger and better films.

My late mum and dad went to blackpool for their honeymoon .the results ,me , almost 76 now . Wish i knew what hotel or bb ,they stayed in .why didnt i ask ,when they were alive .its strange ,we want to ask ,after theyve gone .dad was always in work , did double shifts to take us to barry island and porthcawl .he worked at pilkingtons glass .he cycled to work ,before we got a motorbike and sidecar .this movie ,doesnt seem like the good old days , may 14th 2025 , still problems ,but different .
