The thing that concerns me about electronic implants in the brain is that technology can advance quite rapidly, do you have more implants every few years as the technology improves? What if the company that made your implant goes bust, or just stops your software updates? The Second Sight company that made bionic eye implants stopped their software updates so people's vision can just turn off and stop working, leaving them literally in the dark.

It has great possibilities with helping in the medical field, but it’s quite terrifying thinking of it getting in the wrong hands like hacking your brain for full mind and body control.

I understand it might be able to help a lot of people. But I just can't imagine being dependent on them and fully trusting them when they can be in control of that vulnerability and have the full capability of using it against me if they wanted to. It might be the best thing to ever happen for people who really need it, but I'm sorry, to me it's just creepy

I am a polio survivor. I am wondering if this technology could reactivate the motor neurons which were killed by this virus, allowing me to be able to walk without braces and to be able to use my arm rendered ineffective by the deltoid having been affected. This is monumental for so many people to be able to lead more independent lives! This technology could also be effective in solving the chronic pain associated with Post Polio Sequelae.
