My goals are to reach an almost C1 level in French, B1 Norwegian, and A2 Spanish!
Great job! I am always keen to see updates on these things haha, but I can understand if I am the only one who replies 'yes' to that and you don't want to make a video about it. About the Japanese thing - yeah, ever since about October 2019 (took me way too long to figure it out), I set goals in terms of hours. Fluency and level goals just don't work for me or for most people because they are too far removed from the steps you need to take. I like just saying "200 hours in 6 months means slightly more than an hour a day". e.g. Today and yesterday I did almost 4 hours study total in Swedish, which is the language I find the hardest to be motivated in because it's my best one. Great video Mari!
Ótimo vídeo! sou brasileira e pronunciar os fonemas costuma ser um desafio, mas você foi muito boa!!! I used to be B2 but my level is definitely decreasing cause I don't practice that much. Idk why but I'm really interested in Norwegian and I was studying last year but then I thought it'd be better if I start learning something more useful, maybe French or German. And I'll definitely try to learn Spanish
I think its a great idea to track progress by hrs of input. I used to do that and my lvls on all languages soared. I don’t know why I stopped 🤔 My 2020 language goals: - Get back up to a solid C1 in French- mainly focused on using more formal business vocab - B2 in German - mainly focusing on grammar and building vocab - A2 in Yoruba - mainly focusing on having simple conversations
You are a true polyglot. Many/most other “polyglots” will not speak in their target languages, or if they do, it’s low level sentences. Great job.
I am Italian and OMG I must say your Italian is SO good! Congrats, and keep going!
I've been watching goal vids for an hour straight 😅😭 need the inspiration. My goals for 2020 are to read more in English (mother tongue), read more in French (C2), reach C2 in Portuguese (C1) and Moroccan Arabic (C1 but I'm slackin 😅), reach C1 in Standard Arabic (B1), German (B2), Spanish (B1 but I can catch up!) and Chinese (B1). Also would like to at least have conversations in Tamazight (A1) and Swahili (A2) ... hella ambitious but I'm trying!
For 2020 I want to finally reach C1 in Spanish!!! I’m almost there 😫 My listening needs improvement through. I lost a lot of my Portuguese skills in 2019 because I got caught up stuff, but I’m ready to advance to B2. Lastly, I want to maintain my B1 in ASL and get to A2 in German by the end of the year! 🧠 💪🏻
Love your video Mari. I wanna improve my mandarin
I'm gonna be brief > My goals for 2020 are > 1. Improving my English, I would like to achieve a high B2 level, which I consider enough for me. 2. Improving my Finnish skills, I've gotta focus more on listening and speaking, I'm still feeling scared when it comes to speaking with other people. 2. Improving my Swedish, I would like to achieve at least B1 in this language this year. that's it!
My goal is to improve my grammar and expand my vocabulary to reach C1 in L.A. Spanish! I'm also working harder on BR. Portuguese, to reach B2. I have some new books and a tutor/in-person classes now! These are my half-way year goals, by June 2020. Then once I get farther in those, I eventually want to start Mandarin Chinese around halfway or later this year :D PS- can you possibly add English captions so those of us who don't speak one of these languages can understand? :) I want to hear how you're doing but I don't know Dutch!! :( (I've tried the CC button and settings but i can't find English translations)
Your portuguese is sooo cute! Xoxo from Brazil!
I know I’m late, but I’m Dutch and I still live in the Netherlands. If you’re interested I’d love to meet you some time and practise Dutch with you! That is, after the lockdown is over. As for my goals: I’d like to hold a simple conversation in Korean, be able to read and understand a complete novel in French and dip my toes in Manderin, to see if it’s a language for in the future.
Português é dificil, mas você está indo no caminho certo! Parabens, estude muito, não pare! Um dia quero ver você falando português sem medo haha ^-^
I’m planning to reach B1 in Korean and N4 (A2-B1) in Japanese, plus A1 in Chinese
my goal is to be in the beginner for korean because right now I don’t know nothing of korean and then in 3 months I will starting chinese and I’d also like to be beginner for that as well. Hopefully I can achieve my goal haha I’d really like to take the topik 1 but idk yet since I’m so far from my goal haha
Mannn I think you're super cute! And I think you and I have the same problem in Portuguese: there's no way we pronounce "não"... XD But I've been told by Portuguese natives that that's a really hard sound for Spanish natives (I think you're also native, right? Or am I wrong?). My goals for this year areeeeee: 1. Improve my English. I've got a certified C1 and I think my listening is amazing, but I still make a lot of grammar mistakes regarding past tenses and all of that. I really wanna get back to study grammar, maybe not really deep, but at least take a look from time to time. 2. IMPROVE MY GERMAN. I live in Germany and I've got a C1 and I'm actually studying my degree in German, but man, I make a thousand of mistakes, my pronunciation gets really bad if I'm a little bit nervous, I forget which verb I gotta use all the time, I mix acusative and dative more than I would like to... And I really need to expand my vocabulary. Maybe I should make more German speaking friends! 3. Go up to a C1 in Portuguese. I also speak portuñol; and being honest, mine is like portu-gali-ñol. I'm from Galicia and sometimes I just throw a lot of Galician there and my Portuguese speaking people are like "wtf you just said kkkkk" And last but not least: 4. I'm gonna enroll in a course at the University to start hitting off Arabic! I'm DYING to learn the language. I guess we'll be focusing on the Syrian accent/dialect hehe And that's all I've planned so far! Even tho my German is not like *the best in the world*, if you ever need a tip or just somebody to complain about the language, I'm here!
