With initial reference to Danielle's comment on the Gurkhas. She said that the Brits and the Gurkha's realized that "they worked better with each other than fighting each other." NOT TRUE unfortunately. The truth is that the Gurkhas were defeating British troops in many battles. Then the be all and end all at HQ in London realized "why fight them when we can have them fight for us". Clever Brits, the mandarins in London always got it right. Yes, it's a relationship that has spanned nearly two centuries and has benefitted both parties and long may it continue. But it was not a magnanimous gesture of martial kinship and camaraderie among brave soldiers. It was a clever ploy on part of the Brits.... That's how Britannia ruled the waves... through clever initiatives like incorporating forces like the Gurkhas.

what’s crazy to me, is that world powers find each other as threats. the mentality of people is imperialistic that rather than seeing the opportunities to work together, they default to planning how they can take each other down. china and the US, together, could make HUGE leaps in innovation and technology. the competition is healthy, of course, to a degree.
