The fact that this stunning performance ranked third-to-last is the ultimate evidence that Eurovision could not revolve around music any LESS. Not only was the song catchy. Melody has a beautiful voice, extraordinary stage presence, and mindblowing performance skills. Her vocals are incredible as it is, but the fact that she could land such challenging vibrattos and stay on tune despite all the dancing and jumping around? We rarely ever see someone this talented in Eurovision anymore, since most live performances are mid at best because there is a lot more focus on the stage decoration than there is on the actual music. Unfair doesn't even begin to cover what the jury and audience votes did to Melody and her team. It makes me as mad as the 2021 debacle with Blas Cantó, another extraordinary musician with flawless vocals who was ignored largely by so-called "professional" juries across the board.
