@IanWatsonDr

Great presentation. Given your topic I assume your supervisor is Barry Smyth a good friend of mine and a keen runner. I’m also a CBR pioneer - Ian Watson - keep up your enthusiasm

Hello Ciara, as a biotechnologist, I didn't know a lot about this machine learning subject, but after looking at your vedio I learned a lot about things, it's a very interesting field, and I wish you good luck.

Hi Ciara, another question regarding CBR:
If you have an already existing database filled with objects, let´s just say movies, how would you decide which attributes of these movies can be used for your cbr comparisons. My approach was to check for each attribute like (movie title or whatsoever) if they have been used (data completeness) and check the heterogenity of data (if there are 50 movies with the same release year and the cbr system would use the release year to retrieve similar cases it would probably classify all these movies as similar to your movie). My question: What other or different quality measures would you use to determine attributes for comparison?

@AmanJolly1994

AWESOME !!! YOU WILL BE A PERFECT PROFESSOR!! Thanks for CBR and KNN :)

@harshithbangera7905

Please continue sharing your knowledge 👍

@beeguanteo4963

Hi Ciara, thanks for the video. It clears some of my doubts on CBR. Keep it up with your knowledge sharing.

@cachandocanada6507

Great explanation! thanks for sharing

@tammodirksen1408

When would you use case based reasoning and when collaborative filtering? They seem quite similar. While a lot of big platforms like Netflix or Spotify seem to use collaborative filtering both techniques seem to be similar. Great video btw. :)

@pajoshi70

Interesting use of CBR in your research! From where are you gathering the data? Is it open source and free? I'll be interested in looking at the data. I'm a half-marathoner and data science enthusiast. Would love to see recommendations from your research to marathoners for their goal achievement.

@supahsimp

Apart from Machine Learning what other programming languages do you know? Also, I learnt a lot from your video. You'd make a fantastic teacher/professor/lecturer

@zacksadelaoud8343

During the Retrieve phase you compare the new case with all the existing previous cases based on similarity? Would'nt that be computationally expensive when the data gets Big?

@bellalin9681

Heyy i love the clearity of your explaination and it also makes me have more confidence as a woman learning ML☺️☺️.Most of these topics are explained by guys, at least based on what i have found in youtube. I wonder what background do you need to do a Phd in ML? Do you need a pure ML or computer science background? Im actually doing a master in Computational Linguistics(nlp) and linguistics (50/50),even though ML and NLP are quite overlapling, i have no idea what will be the requirement if one wants to get into ML research. Will be nice to hear your advice or experience on that😃

@kiouria90

Hello and thank you for this video <3 The thing that i dont really understand is the difference between CBR and Knowledge Based recommendations though.. :/

@emmazuma9958

What real world problem can we solve with case based reasoning

@emercierlaurent

Hello, I love to see a girl talking about. introduction is too long. Instead of just talking illustrations will be better: how we describe a case, how the analogy engine works (3 algorithms) and the cases CBR gives quickly (without model) relevant answer. Happy Future
