@Tex1947

As usual Mr. Sowell is spot on. Interviewing young people for almost any position requiring basic math and reading skills is pure torture.

@shalevedna

I taught world history at a NY college. Students were on a 1st grade level. Not all but many.

@jassssyyyj

Absolutely, my daughter graduated last year in Harlem from a charter school. She’s in one of the top Universities in the country because of it. I learned quickly when my children were in the public school system in elementary to get them out.

@keithjaeger1

He does a good job explaining the the nefarious incentives which drive educators and institutions. The students lose

@garystrittmater8258

Our Department of education should be a Department of Shame!

@louv3347

I came to this country legally with my parents. My parents had 5th grade level educations and they learned English as a second language. They were not able to help me but encouraged me to do well in all my subjects. I excelled at school because I worked hard and wanted to make my parents proud. The problem is today's children would rather play video games or be on their smart phones. They are taught that they are victims and there are no losers. They are coddled. School was a lot tougher in the 60's and no ideologies were pushed on us.

@rawbfish9355

We wast so much money on bureaucracies.

@markjoslin9912

The problems started when this moved from education to indoctrination.

@sowelltoday

Thanks for watching!!!

@Texas_or_Bust

I wish you could have been my teacher. You should be training all teachers!

@markr.9626

The G.O.A.T. is always spot on

@mht5875

This is why the Dept. of Education needs to be shut down

@buddyjenkins6913

Texas just passed school vouchers giving parents a choice in their child's education. Hopefully other states will follow.

@ralphpeirson8475

As a single parent, I homeschooled my two children! After taking their GED exam, my daughter at 15 years old and son at 18, both graduated high school! Their levels of knowledge and ability were far beyond those graduating from public school!

@darrylldoucette6895

This pure cream of logical understanding cannot help but rise to the top. It’s the waiting for it to be understood and adopted that is the hardest part.

@iainrobertson1690

This hits the nail right on the head

@friendlyone2706

If it takes problems to get fed money then problems will be created.😮

@rawbfish9355

They waste money on useless bureaucracy’s at the local level.

@jrodamores87

As a former teacher in the 4th largest school districts in the US, yes. 100% 🎯

@JA78488

He explains everything Sowell
