I got in trouble more than once for overreacting when someone pointed out there was garbage in the trashcan I kept in my room, the few times I had to deal with living in the barracks in the military. "TRASH?? IN THE TRASHCAN!?! HOLY SHIT, ALERT THE CDC!! WE NEED TO LOCK THIS FUCKING BUILDING DOWN, NOW!" So many push-ups. Worth it. For as fucking meticulously clean as my god damn barracks room was otherwise, let someone complain about my trash when I was literally WASHING my plastic bottles and aluminum cans, and crushing them for recycling, and didn't use any tobacco products.

1974 Had a Sgt move into barracks in Air Force. After a good week security police raided our barracks to bust all the drug users. Day room was full of guys sitting on floor with hands zip tied behind back. That Sgt was an undercover 1st Lt.
