According to the Heir To The Empire trilogy, the guards also had to do periodic rotations as Stormtroopers in battle to ensure they never got rusty from lack of battle
So they are essentially peak human. Kinda scary, but also a shame we dont see them in action.
Royal guards in the Disney ones were so powerful, they had to edit out their weapons so they’d lose.
Imagine going through that, just to be tossed on the wall by Yoda 🤣
I think their weapons can block lightsabers and they were kind of mini bosses in some Star Wars games.
And 2 of them go through all that training and tests just to get knocked tf out by a drugged up frog man flicking his wrist Edit: people taking this comment way too seriously
I know not everything needs to have a tv show but a guy making his way to becoming an Imperial Guard and turning the tide of a war would be sick though
I wish we got to see them more
“Super tough and dangerous” - YODA RAISES HIS HAND . . . 😂😂
Yoda swiped left with two fingers to defeat these guys.
They are basically the 40k custodians of the empire
The royal guard at the end is actually in a board game, he's one of my favorite units
And Ray be beating several of them at once on her second battle with a light saber
If I learned anything from Lego Star Wars the complete saga, it’s that these dudes were tougher than the average enemy
Royal Guards are like the Custodians from 40K
So they went for looks in the movies, and skill for Darth and Palpatine Edit: Tysm for 1k likes
Instead of making a Tv series about these guys we get the Acolyte and the Skeleton Crew. A lot of geniuses over there at Disney.
Imperial royal guards were just The elite of the elite when it came to regular old humans without the force. But the most important trait wasn't necessarily their combat abilities. It was an undying loyalty to the emperor.
Important to note that the first generation of the the royal guards were simply very trusted guards. Before the empire was founded Palpatine needed guards he could trust completely.
