Morpheus's glasses should have won their own Oscar for this movie.
Laurence Fishburne is perfect as Morpheus, excellent job casting him.
Hard to believe this film is 25 years old. Its completely ahead of its time in terms of scope and imagination. No other film in recent years has suppassed this, proving that The Matrix is a Masterpiece that grows more relevant as time goes by.
"We marveled at our own magnificence... " Always liked that line
"There are fields, Neo endless fields... where human beings are no longer born. We are grown." That sent chills down my spine.
Neo’s panic response to learning the truth is what more horror/suspence/apocalyptic movies need. It creates true immersion: how someone may act if faced with something unbelievable and horrific.
I walked into this movie at the theater because my girlfriend at the time liked keanu reeves and neither of us had any idea what it was about. OMG, i just wish everyone could have experienced this movie without any knowledge before hand. Nothing else in my life has ever given me that "blow your mind" experience. This movie was truly revolutionary for its time.
Neo’s nervous breakdown is oddly funny. He did a good job freaking out.
Greatest Duracell commercial in the History 😎
Lawrence Fishburne is literally so perfectly casted for this movie. He plays his part so well.
This movie is one of the greatest pieces of art ever conceived by humankind.
This is a philosophical masterpiece. Questioning reality to this uncomfortable yet fascinating degree. What is real? How much am I in control and when am I the one being controlled? We watched this movie a couple of times in philosophy class and the discussion we had in class were some of the best lessons I had in school.
His reaction after he got unplugged seemed pretty on point. If someone were to genuinely experience that, I imagine they'd pass out from pure shock.
2 decades later and still kicks ass, probably schools in 2099 will include this movie in history/art lessons.
The phylosophical depth of this movie is unprecedent.
I remember seeing this as a kid and never understood what this all meant. I was into the action and chaos. Understanding this for the first time in 20 YEARS IS MIND-BLOWING!
This scene has become iconic
One of the greatest scenes in movie history, that only becomes more and more meaningful as time passes...
"...at some point in the early 21st century... we gave birth to A.I." Remember back in the days when this used to be a sci-fi movie...?
