That push stick is quite decorative, sitting there next to your saw. You might want to hang it on the wall someday, to remind you of these days when you still had both of your thumbs.
I sometimes wonder who are these hopeless people who dislike such wonderful piece of Art!
Craftsmanship. Beautiful, just beautiful.
Gorgeous work! You mention being new(ish) to woodworking. I'm old and started young. Broke most every safety rule with too many bad scares and some injuries. Still have 10 fingers. I know several woodworkers who don't. Long way to say, IT HAPPENS SO FAST it's impossible to imagine. Please, please give a little more thought to safety. Luck is something that sometimes turns. And yes, I now do everything I can to stay safe in the shop. Again, big praise for your craft.
That's not a cutting board, it's a work of art !!!
Good job. Suggestion - for the first glue-up, don't glue the sticks all along the same edge (perpendicular to the first stick). Instead, glue each piece at an offset that matches the chevron angle. Then when you cut the first chevron angle, you'll have much less waste.
I am getting into making cutting boards lately and end grain projects seem to get the most attention. A friend asked me to do an edge grain board, saying he preferred the look, that turned out very nice. Now I see that you can make it very beautiful and that it gives up nothing to an end grain board.
Great video, but I feel I should say for any beginners that your table saw safety isn't up to scratch. You often leave your blade too high, coupled with no riving knife means you are far more likely to get kickback. If you do, you are stood right behind your piece. I've seen (on Stumpy Nubs channel) kickback spear a 2x4 straight through a solid door. OUCH!
Great jigs!! I love jigs. This guy is so detail oriented, I love it. He makes things like I do, with great attention to detail. ❤
Beautiful piece and a true craftsman. I've made a few similar boards and recently tried to offset the pieces in the first glue-up so they follow the angle of the subsequent cut. It definitely takes more clamps, but when making angled cuts, it significantly reduces waste (those big triangle cut-off pieces). Hope that helps
That jig for doing the grooves is mwah
You made me feel stupid. Ive done loads of cutting boards but somehow havent thought about making a wavy board. I truly thank you for a kick in the rear. Much apprecited
Ur a legend!!! I love you work you inspire me a lot I’m 13 and I I do this sort of stuff in my workshop in my spare Time with my dad and with metal I use all types of metal and all types of wood I love making stuff
What angle are you cutting at
Oh guru ਛਾਅ ਗਏ Tusi,,,,
That juice groove jig is BRILLIANT
At the 1:25 mark, what width is your fence from blade? 1 1/2" ? And, is the thickness of those boards 1" ? Thanks
What are the dimensions of the strips for the first glue up? How wide are you cutting the angled strips?
I have got to try this, I am just getting started wood working, THANKS
