1 volt difference between the two batteries under load and you're ready to chuck the one that pulls to 9v compared to 10v? You can desulfate the lower voltage one and bring it back to life for a minimum of 10v pull, with a simple overcharge on a dc power supply (see youtube videos on desulfating lead-acid batteries). Don't throw in the towel yet my man. Even in the weakened condition, that lower cca battery can still get you through a warm climate summer even without desulfating it on a charger. I've gotten 10+ years on some batteries by tuning them up that way. Great video.

So how is this different than a $15 Harbor Freight battery load tester? It works just as well at determining the health of a car battery.
