It goes from "strange woman" to "watery tart" to "moistened bint"
“Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords” is such a hilarious summary for the Lady of the Lake 😂
I was in middle school when this movie came out. “I fart in your general direction” became the greeting of every kid in school for weeks, then we moved on to “tis only a scratch”. Teachers hated that movie.
"If I went around saying I was an emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!" is one of the best movie quotes ever. I could see these guys sitting in a pub, laughing their asses off thinking up different ways to say "lady of the lake gave me a sword".
“Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.” 🤣😂
"That must be the King." "How can you tell?" "He doesn't have shit all over him."
Watery tart... Violence inherent in the system... Moistened Bint... They Don't write em like that anymore!
Now that I’m older I appreciate this humor 100 times more.
Fun fact: these guys were real! There was an English group of anarchist socialists in the 1600s called the "Diggers". They believed in farming common land and were therefore often seen digging in these common areas -- which is why they got their names, and why the characters in this skit are digging along the road
We need a little Monty Python, just this very minute.
“One day son, all this will be yours “………. “What the curtains “
Nearly 50 years old and still hilarious
My dad and his friends went to see this movie in theaters when they were like 12. On of my dads friends wrote to one of the actors (can’t remember which) saying how much they loved the movie. They then sent back a signed copy of the script with a letter. Can’t imagine what it’s worth today.
"Moistened bint" may be my favorite phrase in the English language. Although watery tart is in contention.
"Help Help I'm being repressed" 🤣 This is still hilarious
"Not from some farcical aquatic ceremony " One of my favorite lines 😂
Moistened bint had thrown a scimitar at me😂😂😂
Monty Python will only ever get old if humanity goes extinct, and even then, it will keep living for a bit longer.
Honestly, this bit tought me more about the government than school ever did.
