The reason for the cease fire had more to do with how both countries realized the rest of the world was not taking sides. Pakistan expected other Muslim countries to support them even though they were the initial agressor. India expected UK an USA support while they were buying weapons and doing more favorable deals with China and Russia. Maybe it is a learning moment for both countries?

Don't use the word ceasefire. Foreign secretary never said that. You are misquoting him. Stop all firing is not ceasefire. Ceasefire has a legal weight to it.
