I work as an Instrument and control tech, your 2,3,4th year of schooling go deep into PLC's and the logic that goes into them. Such a valuable skill to have, im just getting into it and I love it
I teach controls and PLC's in a technical school. You'd be surprised how many young folks are not interested in PLC's because of the extra work and study. Most just want a job, any job, the easier the better. The students I get have to complete a nine month electrician or HVAC program to qualify for entry. Out of the possibility of 60-70 graduates in both of the programs, I had 3 in my last class. I've been working controls since the 70's, PLC's since the mid-80's.
A big piece they need to add. Better hourly pay. Most controls engineers i know make less than me yearly but like 15% less for 60% less hours
ISA and NCCER are also both great programs if a vollege or university isn't for you. There are specific courses for automation technologies. Just keep in mind pay will depend on the field you wanna work in. PLCs cover, industries such as food, raw materials processing, most types of power plants, hospitals, logistical transports, and of course oil, gas. and utilities plants.
Yep, it's an interesting field to be in.
These tips will make a difference if applied correctly.
I like it very much❤❤
I've been doing commercial HVAC for the last 6 years and Im tired of carrying heavy shit every other day. I need something like this that's more mentally stimulating and less physical work
Good stuff...
i like this job.. hope i can work with this company
I'm going to trade school to be an electrician, i found out that i don't really like the labour work, but i used to work on plc machines like exhausters and i like it, i found out that i can learn plc, so my question is: can i start learning plc right now or do i need to get my certificate first?
Is there any online courses that you are offering?
As a Union Electrician I make more than most PLC programmers and engineers. Electrician check out your local IBEW!
