I will never understand the legal system. He spent 17 years in prison for assaulting and murdering a CHILD, released EARLY, then sentenced to 15 years for possession of inappropriate material?!? Human life means nothing apparently.

@FigaroHey

The fact that Turner was always interested in Lisa coming to show him stuff her parents bought for her indicates he was planning the crime. He had her in his sights and was waiting for his chance. The fact that he says if he hadn't done it on Halloween it would not have got any attention shows he was waiting for a good opportunity. He more or less groomed her to trust him. His girlfriend is lucky to have got away from him before her (their?) own daughter became his victim.

@riccardo50001

It seems impossible to me that anyone could ever have thought that this man could be let back into society on any level. this entire story is unbelievable!

@jaymesguy239

It's not even just about 'justice for the victims', it's about protecting the public from dangerous criminals. This was truly pathetic. This is the type of case and response from the authorities that turn people into vigilantes.

@jeannettegardner2335

I was a feral child of the 1970's. It was a different time. It was not poor parenting of the time. He was a trusted adult. The blame is 100% on him. He should never be back in a nonprison society. My heart breaks for her family.

@reginafowler3517

People, please don't start with the parent bashing and wondering why she was allowed to trick or treat alone. It was 1973, it was a totally different world in those times. Yes, bad things happened but they were the exception, not the rule. People knew their neighbors, knew their children's friends, etc. Only one person is responsible for her death and that is Gerald Turner.

@jamesfahey4508

I'm in Australia, but I have a Facebook friend in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Believe me, they remember.

@appledoreman

The only inference that can be drawn from cases like this is that the parole board is stacked full of paedophiles. Full credit to the parents for ensuring this monster is being denied his freedom.

@Lilgiz93

I’ve heard of this case before this video. Poor girl died of the shock of being sexually assaulted. So ridiculous that this man was able to be set free so many times

@Language_Guru

That parole board was a pack of criminals! 😡

@BehindTheCrime-h2l

Justice for the victims should always be the priority.

@KerrieKruegner

What training or qualifications do parole board members have?!?! It’s so fustrating and ridiculous that these monsters are given such lenient sentences and paroled when it’s shown time after time they re offend How many assaults and murders have been committed by those on parole?! And yet it keeps happening Sexual predators and serial killers do not “ get better” so they’re a threat to the community for asking as they live

@paolorossi8470

Turner is like a radioactive cockroach that never goes away and you can never kill it.

@ISiannaMarie

Disgusting. That poor little girl died of shock from such a horrific act.

@kristentaylor5359

wth is wrong with Wisconsin authorities? Seriously, stop caring more about a sex offender or murderer than you do their victims and families.

@2msvalkyrie529

How do parents manage to carry on life after this. ? I cannot begin to imagine
the suffering.. I pray there IS a Heaven where all their pain and suffering can
be soothed.

@purplewinds

i will never understand why they keep letting this type of criminals out. in my opinion if they really felt rehabilitated after a few years in prison then they'd feel remorse with what they've done and know they don't deserve to come out after what they did and peacefully serve their sentence. Anyone who admits their crime but keep making appeals for lesser time don't feel remorseful enough. (unless they were just wrongfully accused which is clearly not the case here).

@sharonpalmer9437

I don't understand why he was not attracted by the other prisoners. In Florida if a man attracted a little child whether or they were killed or not that man didn't live too long in prison.

@StaciePoole-ng2ky

This case just proves how corrupt the system really is. I would love to hear a GOOD excuse for letting this man back out into society. I find it very hard to believe that parole board doesn’t have questionable motives for this.
