Well, 7-10;is extreme in the opposite direction, imo. Just read to your kids after bath time, in their bedrooms, as a routine, and you will light the fire of young readers. Read classics children’s stories, Peter Pan, etc., so that the parent and the child are gleaning what they can at their level, for a great bedtime routine. Best memories.❤

Laura Ingalls Wilder didn't learn to read until she was 9. One of my boys wasn't ready until 9. He learned quickly, without frustration. He loves to read today. None of his public school friends do.

School absolutely ruined reading for me. I miss being 6 and reading a book for fun. School rewired my brain so I can't just sit down, read a book, and space out for a while, and it pisses me off everyday.

10..... I have homeschooled for 9yrs now. It's how you go about it. Both boys were reading at age 3 and 4. Kids are a SPUNG!! If you homeschool they should actually be ahead of PS. Make it fun!! But kids are NOT stupid and she must think they are.
