Great! My 6 string guitar recently became a 5 string guitar so this is really helpful.
Short and simple , I appreciate that. I learned a new trick as well, a little bend in the string before you put the pin in.
Damn I’ve been playing guitar for over 10 years and only just learned today what the little nub on a string winder is for. Learn summat new everyday
Your older guitar restring video is how I learnt to restring my very first cheap ass guitar I bought at a yard sale like 5 years ago, I'll always be thankful to that video for where I am now because if it wasn't for that video, I never would've gotten serious about the guitar and come so far with my music skills. Keep up the awesome content man, love your work.
Im new to guitar ive been on it for about 5 months now and when i was tuning it tonight my second string snapped and it made me jump. I asked my parents if i can get new ones before christmas but this video will help so thank you 😭
Just a little note, work from the middle out to avoid stressing the neck, so D, G, A, B, E, e. Before winding the new string, pull back about 2-3 inches as well, so you know how much you need to work with.
I like the clean look of simply going under. I dont have issues. I always detune drastically and catch the Green light on the tuner while tuning up. A lot of people just tune up down up down slightly and that might be why they think they need to lock in thier strings. But honestly the wood of the guitar will move more with room temperature than the strings on the tuner pegs.
TY brother🖤much love from Canada I just stared to get back into this and you make it look SO EASY🖤🤘
How much slack? Tuner key wise like 2-3 tuners, and 3 for plain?
Nice vid! Only thing I'd do differently is not cut the old strings, just in case I break one I can use the old one as an emergency replacement. Great tip about the notch to remove the plugs too, never noticed that!
I always tighten the nuts on the stem. Thanks for the video. Fixing to restring my Takamine 12 string.
This was exactly the video I needed to change my strings quickly and efficiently. I appreciate you taking the time to make this video to help amateurs like myself 😊
This is the one that didn’t do some random bs. Thank you
I'm wanting to put 12-56 elixers on my hd35, will it make the neck warp???
Does it matter how I put the ball end in the guitar? I just put it in flat but I don't know if I should
The only thing I'd like to say is, why cut the strings with wire cutters? After they are loosened, a little tug near the tuners and they just fall off. Then you only have to throw away six strings that can easily be coiled together. Cutting leaves twelve pieces to deal with. Yes, I know, not a big deal. Just saying. I've been playing for years and years, and until YouTube came along, I had never even heard of cutting the strings. Anyway, love this channel. Keep up the good work.
I've been playing for many years using 80/20 & only recently have discovered Martin Authentic Acoustic 92/8 Phosphor Bronze Guitar Strings & they are fantastic! My question is what are Martin "Retros" & how do they sound/last?
Can i ask how to buy string?everytime i go to a shop here and buy a set of strings the 6 string are the same especially 1 and 2 they are always the same
I myself would only do this on an overhaul of a guitar. So I would do this but only rarely, here's my reason.......replacing one string at a time in sequence and being each replaced up to near tune saves pressure on multiple points on the guitar. Everything stays tight, one string being tampered with is much better on the rod, than all six. If I'm taking all six off at once I'm doing more than just strings. Anyway that's me. Have a good one.
