As my Empire falls, I shall fall with it -Baslieus Constantinos XI, hero of the Hellenes, the last Emperor of the Romans
I am a Turk, our history books always mention Emperor Constantine as the honorable king.
it's more badass when his friends stay and said, I'm going to God with you my Majesty
"I'm going to God my friend" is one hell of a line
"going to god is my duty" this is a man
He defended Constantinople as heroically as Leonidas did in Thermopiles! #respect
Rome rose with Romulus And so it fell with Romulus Constantinople rose with Constantine And so it fell with Constantine
I donโt know if this is true or not, but this is the story that I was told, upon realizing the city was lost Constantine XI ordering his Royal guard to flee the city with his family he told them that that would be his last order as emperor of Byzantium then he threw in the crown of Byzantium onto the ground and put on a common soldiers armor and with 2 or 3 of his most loyal guards then charged into the battle to never be seen again
"I am going to God, my friend. It is my duty." Respect+++
Modern day: im gonna die!!!!!! ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ Middle ages: im going to god my friend, thats my duty ๐ฟ๐ฟ
A true christan. No matter defeat on this earth, the Kingdom is not from this world
โGod forbid that I should live as an emperor without an empire. As my city falls, I will fall with it.โ
He was a respectful Emperor. Huge respect for Constantine XI for fighting for Constantinople until the last breath
It was the duty of all Christians to help them but no one did its sad
Im Turkish and I respect Constantine XI very brave and respectfull leader
"Your majesty, if you are going to god i wish to join thee, may god see fit i can serve you still in paradise."
As a Turk, I am also respect the fact that we had an honorable enemy.
He is a VERY brave man... he geve his live up for the beloved city constantonople
The last bastion of the greatest empire in history, the Roman Empire. It's stunning to think that Rome, under every kind of look and style, started from Italy in 753 a.C and ended 2200 years later in Constantinople.
