i liked your lecture, that was fantastic, well explained..

@ComoVivirPorFe

Will the Google translate widget, which translates the content of our page automatically, somehow penalize our page for "duplicate content" in this case, seeing as it is a machine translation, even though it is done in real time?

@charliewillits

We have a .com website that presents items for sale in English, French, and several other languages. We've placed the hand-translated pages into the sitemap -- but all pages currently have a US-English HTML tag. For SEO purposes, should we include xml:lang="fr" in the HTML tag for the pages rendered in French? Relatedly, does a webmaster need to submit different sitemap.xml files for google.fr and google.de than what's used in the United States?

@ElaAtelier

Very nice video. I got to understand a lot. But.... on Google Search Console I don't seem to have an issue.... but if I use any other SEO checking tool online.... I keep getting an error as duplicate title tag because of the transactions. For me it's simple as the website it's in English, and I also translated it in Romanian as that's where I'm from. Still.... I keep wondering how to get rid of that error. And one more thing related to the language... because I have a domain name with .ro the target it's automatically Romania. But to me Romania should be a secondary target and my main target it's international. I can't seem to have any option available in the Search Console, at least I couldn't find it anywhere.

@MaribelDelos

ok, that is a good question and in the same time good answer by Matt. He suggestion really is relevant, why copy and translate, must have a hands on to it, to make it more unique...

@sonatabugatti9099

please can u help me to understand the last point : block out with robots.txt ?? i have a big problem my website have original texts and few articles translated should i completely delete them ? which solution please ? urgently please

@sahilsahilbhatia1

Hi Matt
I ma a big fan of yours.
Can you please suggest me is there any harm to our site if i use google scrapping( through a software) to search keywords of a site instead of doing it manually.
I will be waiting for your answer.

@RachelAlexander_Christchurch

Thanks for this clarification. I guess we still should do hreflang tags. Do we need to re-submit a subdomain in another language to Google, or will Google pick this up automatically?  I suppose an update of the sitemap will achieve this :-)

@Provisionusa

what if you alias international tlds to your .com site. For example if you own .co.uk and .com and the .co.uk is aliased to the .com?

@IroquoisPliskin

Yay! Exactly what I wanted to know. I wanted to know if Google sees as duplicated a content which was translated automatically.

@pasxizeis

How is this video uploaded on Aug '11 and it only has 1 comment and 1k views?

@AndyDOHD1

Is it recommended to have the tld relevant to the language rather than say a .co.uk with a French translation in a different folder...?

@sanjayrajure

somebody copied translated copies of articles from my website in another language. There are about 400 articles on three different websites in Vietnamese language that are copied from my English website. I discovered it just today. Is it something for me to worry about. The copying of articles has produced 6000 links from the scrapping sites to articles on one of my websites.

I use my own words in my mother tongue and then use Google Translator to translate it for my dissertation, would that put me under the risk of plagiarism?

@Timdavies81

Useful info, thanks for sharing.

@satishden

Good information. this is common doubt to all web masters. clarified here. thank you

@harshmishra1227

If I use google translate for translating copied content into another language then Google will catch it?

I use copy escape for searching my site plagiarism content then I found that it shows 70% duplicate?why it shows this?

@stanleycrox

Hi, I have a website in Spanish and paid for translate it. after I realize they have used Google translator plus some human corrections, how can I be sure that my site is not poenalized in some way? the truth is being very dificult to rank with that site, Thanks!
