I really enjoy your channel. Very laid back, straight forward and great information. Thank you.
Just something about the .410 Such a fun little cartridge 👍🏻
Best video for this caliber. Showing the different ranges really helps to see the way this caliber behaves.
Some years ago I purchased 500 rounds of REXIO .410, 2.5", 00 Buck fodder. This stuff shoots well (reliable and accurate) from my Mossberg 500E Pistol Grip Camper model (#50335) with cylinder bore. Also works swell in my Rossi .410 single shot, choked modified. Accuracy is impressive to just past 20 yds. My favorite .410 size birdshot is #4 or #5. Not larger than #6. The Mossberg is light (4.5 lbs) and under 29" in length. Perfect for a camp gun or home safety use. It's a really neat caliber. Nice interesting video, never thought about reloading .410 ammo.
Great stuff. Nice little shotgun. Love some 410 👍. I was just testing my cast 000, 36cal, 3 pellet, 410 buck day before yesterday, lotta fun. My spread was a little wider than yours. I still gotta fool around & find a better cushion wad but I'm going in the right direction, I have some ideas. Thanks for sharing. Cool video.
THANK YOU FOR LOAD DATA! I subscribed and even turned on the bell! I dont know why how much grains of powder is some kind of coveted secret. great video i like the various targets aha
Thanks for the info as always .
Really like the little 410👍🏻
There is something special about shooting a 410 bore shotgun on a dark wintery day. Takes me back 50 years to hunting rabbit with my dad. Lots of tin cans met their demise in the snow.
Those 4 or 5 pellet loads always seem to have at least one flyer that either gets stuck in the bottom of the wad due to lack of cushion support or pellet mash. The federal 3" inch 5 pellet #000 and Winchester 5 pellet #000 were real bad for this in the Judge especially due to the lack of cushion and heavy load. I found the 3 pellet 2 1/2" inch #000 to pattern almost as effective and it's fairly well faster then 3' inch .410 shells. For a home brew load it sure works well though.
G'Day, Here in OZ, commercial buckshot .410 cartridges are not available, so I load 21/2" empty shells with 3 balls of .36 cal pistol projectiles. At short range--10 to 15 yards--they group well enough but not as tight as your reloads! I usually carry a few of these rounds when I'm rabbit hunting just in case I come across a fox. They would most likely be effective on small kangaroos but I must add that all our native animals, including kangaroos are totally protected---unless you are a commercial shooter. I don't think I could shoot a "Skippy" even if it was legal to do so. Does your Baikal take 3" cartridges? I've been contemplating buying a Soviet made Baikal .410 single barrel but was told by the gunshop dealer that It was only chambered for 2 1/2" cartridges. We had a look at the detached barrel and couldn't seem to find any mention of chamber length. If it did digest 3" shells, I'd acquire this shotgun as it's a nicer looking firearm than my very utilitarian Boito. The Boito isn't pretty but it gets the job done. Always enjoy your very informative videos. Thanks. Cheers, Steve
Thanks for the information
The ending: why i love shotguns 😂😂😂
Be great home defense load!
Would be really interesting to see if 000 tightens the group with the full choke? (big .410 fan!).
Great video as always
Amazing 😮
Great video! Thanks for doing it. I have a much different experience. I load 3 .380 balls in a Magtech brass under about 18 gr of Pyrodex P. The are hard hitters, even out to 25 yards, but differet accuracy for sure. At 10 yards, cuts a single ragged hole ever time, 15 yards get about a 6 inch spread. 20 yards and beyond, get one ball on the 12 x 12 paper.
Never messed around with the .410, However, seeing the results it gives, the 410 is a creditable round with many uses. people sneer at it and play it down as "Whimpy" however, it goes back to what you have displayed earlier, how much and how large of a firearm is needed for your purposes at hand? will just some buckshot or a cast bullet suffice your needs? Good video-Dave
