I have been in IT for 34 years. Been laid off several times, two of those times were for 7 1/2 month stretches. Don't delay in filing for unemployment. It's insurance you paid for. File a claim. You have the benefit of being young. I subscribed and wish you all the best. Keep your chin up.

I got laid off from work December 2nd and now I found another job that is paying me more for the same work sometimes it’s a blessing in disguise 🙏🏼

The same companies ask for a 2 week notice when you quit but can just fire you suddenly in a day??? They didn’t give you time at all to maybe find another job and to process the change. I hate them, I’m so sorry this happened.

I just got laid off after working for my company for 13 years. I am the sole worker in my house for 3 disabled people. It's terrifying. Prayers for you that you will find another great job!

I would cancel the trip. New Zealand will always be there. Right now you're in an emergency and you need as much cash reserve as possible to keep yourself afloat. I'm so sorry this happened to you!!! But I wanna make sure you & your assets are protected during this hard time ❤❤❤

I had a friend that worked for the same company for 26 years. She worked in IT doing procurement integrations. She got laid off with no notice....her last day was the day they told her. She ended up getting another job that pays more...she's still working from home. She got a full severance package. Her old boss ended up calling her back because stuff hasn't been done since she left and the company was lossing money because they weren't get paid by some of their biggest customers. Nobody else knew how to do her job. Not sure what happened with her old employer...but she is happy at her new job. I'm praying for you. God has something bigger and better in store for you. Lost my job a while back. While I was still working, I pumped money into my mortgage. Got it paid off. Mortgage being my biggest expense, being laid off didn't send me into a panic.
