@janise01

If a small local cafe was so uppity that working with them is the same amount of work as working with WB I'd 100% charge the same. It's called a jackass tax.

@billysandoval1118

Anybody else here for the people that don't understand this topic? Great post. Cheers all.

@ngmi2wagmi

And that’s why Warner Brothers is one of my client’s and not yours. Because I don’t price gouge and take advantage of my clients just because they have deep pockets. A 10yr relationship is better than a 1-off sale.

@valedro

A lot of confusion in the comments. I feel like I get it. The price is determined by the value of the work. WB poster has much wider audience, impact, cultural significance, bigger consequences, higher expectations etc. That's why it's probably more valuable to the company than the other one. But the cafe can also value their poster high and want to pay for it. If they are the next Starbucks for example and really believe in themselves. It's possible. 😊

@christophertorres2292

That's why you need to charge by "how much value" it will bring to the client.

@mitchelk.3682

Not the same job, the audience of WB is bigger so their risk is higher. They have more expectations. (Although small business can have high expectations too). Therefore you can ask a higher price

@alexforce9

How much money your client will make is not a concern of yours, your job is making YOUR product. If anything WB poster will grant you more additional work in the future than some local poster.

@gotnoname3956

It’s not about the work, it’s about the impact your work will have…

@myopinions1

If someone is honest in business they would charge the same.

@corystewart1848

It's not so cut & dry. While WB obviously can afford to pay more, if you're not credentialed & still gouging, they'll likely go elsewhere with their vast resources. Sure, consider charging wb more, but watch your ego. WB is more plausible for continued work as well. Idk, my hot take anyways.

@alexmikhylov

I think people at WB probably already know what the market price for the work is and will go to someone else if you try to gouge them

@ssj_krillin6085

it's not about the amount of work its about the quality of work that's why you charge more

@Chris-oq3kq

Thats why you charge usage rights with clients that big.

@anj000

You WILL spend more time on making poster for WB than a local shop.

@eycewon

It’s a Trick Question.
Warner Bros won’t pay because they’ll use AI. The local cafe can’t pay because Starbucks put them out of business.

@saraohara2504

This logic is too advanced for me. I haven’t even mastered not undercharging friends for my work☹️

@tony-o9b9z

If Warner Brothers has a line of people ready to make the work for them, I'll price it whatever they want. Because I have a lot of competition. If I'm the only option for a local shop, you bet I'll price the shit out of them.

@CrashSable

In what world is the poster being credited with making ALL THE MONEY that the film brings in?

@brien1513

I've thought about this pricing method but it doesn't really work where I am. It's an incredibly small country where a lot of people (who can afford my services) know each pther and talk. I do worry that they would compare prices and call out an inconsistency.

@aston4736

They are not the same job
