According to the creator of Magnacut Dr Larrin Thomas’s testing, Nitro V scores a 7 for toughness, 3 edge retention, and a 7 for corrosion resistance. 14c28n scores a 9, 3, and 8.5 respectively. 14c28n is superior to Nitro V according to the numbers and imo as well.
My everyday carry blade. Sharp and faster than a folder.
I was just looking at this knife this week . Hopefully I can get it soon . Looks very comfortable to use and looking forward to test this steel . I think they have a larger size in a sheep’s foot that looks good as well . Thank you for the video
very nice Bushcraft knife Brother Gruggs..take care
I have the vosteed Racoon in 14c28n, that one holds its edge really good. Never used Nitro v but your not really selling it 😂. Other than that it looks great.
I think that nitro v sounds like it is a good steel, its name may be better than the steel.
I recently added the Mink to my collection, as I didn't have a nitro-V blade and wondered how it compares to 14c28n, which I like. It seems some of these lesser known brands may not be getting the heat treat and hardeness to their optimum. I've a 14c28n that just doesn't want to hold it's edge. Maybe this is a case of "you get what you pay for"? Thanks, and enjoy.
