You should definitely consider hosting special streams where for every dollar donated, you provide ten lines of code. Additionally, each subscription during the stream could also grant ten lines of code. You might even implement a system where every $10 contributes to adding a new feature, regardless of how many lines of code it requires, or every $15 is a new enemy, maybe $100 and you have to delete an element (like features, enemies, structures, anything that you think wouldn't be cheating) If someone donates $50, asks to compete in a match, is a member of the discord, and wins, then they suggest, no, tell you to add anything, and you have to add it. 💰🎮🤝

a few problems with this is that it could A. really end up feeling like a single mistake could end up ruining it all getting you a combo you cant escape, and will kill the player by the end of it, it could also end up being very long, and the freeze frames make make it feel like it takes forever to get out of, i an easy fix would to be just add a limit to the combo, and perhaps only the first hit has a freeze frame.
YOOOO CHARACTER DESIGN it looks sick man and I love the sword
when you get hit by the enemies you should fall down and get back up, which is a good way for there to be a couple frames where you are stunned where other enemies can combo you, also it would look better than just getting flung into the air
A way to combat being combo’s by enemies is adding an ability that you can only use mid air to slash down onto the enemy also Rip Color man

As long as there is a way the player can disrupt the combo, is all good. Some air control that can alter trajectory? A means by which to recover mid knockback? Heck, with the most minute air control, you can program a way that breakout can happen. When an enemy begins its attack animation, have it project its expected "player trajectory on hit" to the next. So even if it does hit, the player won't be exactly where the enemies expect to continue the tennis rally, altering the combo down the line. Give the player an out.
Castle crashers does this (except you dont die until you hit the ground, and you get flung between 2 enemies and have to restart the level)
Wouldn't you need a way to heal? A healing system like Hollow Knight could be a fun idea for a game like this!
