Clint Eastwood was once asked in an interview how he's still making movies in his 90s, and his response was " Don't let the old man in". This is a great quote that has stuck with me as I'm starting to age.
I turned 42 last month and January was my 1 year anniversary of going to the gym consistently. I still have about 15 lbs to lose to get to my goal fat percentage. I feel more alive than I ever did in my 20s or 30s. You guys inspire me and I love your channel. Thanks!
Turning 40 crew checking in!
So cool to see your journey, Hudson! Been following you guys since 2012-2013 and was crazy meeting you after the Metallica show in Seattle last summer. Even smaller world moment when you went to my gym there!! Thanks for all of the years of content, Buff Dudes!
congrats on being 40. i turned 40 last May. I always said you guys are natural and the reason i watch yall all the time
I started watching you guys when I first began hitting the gym, I was around 16. I'm 28 now, you guys are definitely a big part of the reason why I've been injury free for all these years. Showing proper form, helping me cultivate a solid split etc. Glad you're doing great.
40’s are awesome! Consistency and diet are key, as you said. I’m 50 next month, a few more aches and pains, but still getting it in. Stay motivated and buff!
Been watching since the beginning days of your youtube channel in your apartment in California. Love seeing your constant transformations, Hudson. You are in your prime, man! As someone who is now going to be 36, its great to see you leading the way of crushing fitness through 40 and beyond with a wife, kids and responsibilities. Go crush that BB Comp!!!
Grand age of 42 myself, been following your channel since 2014! You guys are invaluable, I’ve learnt and still learn soo much! Thank you buff dudes! I just need a tutorial to grow out my hair now please, 40+ and long hair is the new flex!
You are an inspiration. Heading to my 40s on a runaway train. We are never too old
42 and in the best shape of my life crew checking in!
I absolutely love this video. Kinda resonated with me, in terms of how I feel getting "older". I'm turning 31 this year, and I've been weight training ever since I was 12. I've had many ups and downs. Plenty of moments filled with insecurity, envy and harsh reality checks. As I see it now, I will probably peak in my 40s and I am super excited for it! I've been at this for such a long time now, I really find it hard to imagine ever stopping for any reason. Even as I become an "old" man, I will still vigorously train and each workout session shall be filled with glory! Let's. Get. Them. GAINS.
This is an inspiring video. It makes me feel better about my ups and downs. Some times I trick myself into believing that my ups and downs are a unique experience, This video proves that everyone has setbacks and should continually learn how to get better.
Love this message. I'm 36 and have been lifting for 22 years, and have gone through all the same phases you did. Bulked too much in high school for football, then lost a lot of weight during college doing low carb diets, but my weight continued to go up and down. I think the big light bulb moment for me was in the last couple of years, realizing I could prioritize certain parts of my training/specific goals instead of trying to do everything at once, like the crazy high volume PPL program I ran for years. About 6 months ago I decided to stop messing around and followed an 18-week powerlifting program (Alex Bromley's 70s Powerlifter) with the goal of doing my first powerlifting competition this year. It was so refreshing following a well thought out program and not worrying if I was losing the gainzzz because I wasn't doing as much bodybuilding exercises as I used to do, and just not having to over think what my training should look like.
Natural bodybuilding is the best indicator of someone’s determination.
Best journey video I’ve seen. Love the honesty and humility as you reveal the ups and downs. I’m 50 and I agree, forget these Debbie downers and no way will I accept that my best days might be behind me. I’ve recently doubled down on just consistency and you are absolutely right, it makes all the difference. It’s easy to tell myself a story about how hard I’m working and excuse missed workouts. But take away the negotiation, show up every damn day, and there is no more story to tell. The proof is in the pudding.
You guys were one of the first fitness channels I started to follow. Glad you are still around
Hearing that you had and overcame so many of the struggles that I have now is so inspiring. I’m 33 now and was so afraid I was in a stage of like where my dream physique is unattainable. I hope I can stick to it and get close to the level you’re at. Thank you Hudson and Brandon
Hudson, you're an inspiration to me. I'm 32 and still mostly a beginner, so seeing what I can become naturally is a huge confidence boost. Keep staying clean, keep working hard.
